speaking of abs n shining or worn off ABS keycaps,
i just wondering, why mine hasn't show any of the symptoms.

the keys in question are those white keycaps..filco stock white keycaps from 2011

If I'm not mistaken, the quality for Filco ABS are better than other ABS keycaps. I think I read this statement in this thread few series back.

I heard this statement too from lowyatguy. Not sure how Filco 1 is better, maybe just a rumor.
I never use my Filco ABS because fed up with the Ducky ABS.

I think d coating made really nice to type and protect d abs get shining early.
But, when d coating get faded, really become ugly. I saw on garage sales, a forummer selling his filco.

I see.. My ducky only need 1month plus for it's shining. Around 16hours daily typing..
So, conclusion is ducky abs so << Filco.

3 years only shine? The font on the filco is printed, should be faded fast.

All the switches are good. Only you can decide which switch is better. Try them out.
Brown are generally preferred because blues have trouble with double taps and quick tapping because the reset point is furthur away from the actuation point compared to other switches and blacks are too heavy for many. But some people can game with blues, so get what is best for you.

Yup. Try 1st, maybe you will like other MX switches too.
Brown ah? This really up to each individual preferences.
Some people use MX brown for main typing keyboard. Some people blue, red and etc etc.
Already have the brand in mind you want to buy which keyboard? Refer to the first page for more info. biggrin.gif

Can you show us the picture of your keycaps?
Seems like bad product, I may say. Got font same like no font, when faded, I believed will make d keycaps look uglier.

I'm a keycool pbt keycaps user too.
*
I didn't get the pbt or pom version. I got the 'team edition' with abs keycaps. Its the same thing with the detachable cable, ps/2 adapter, extra costar plastic inserts without the keypuller and the coloured keycaps. And it comes in a brown box.

Because of the lighting the pic doesn't look exactly like it does irl. q/z/x are also starting to rub off but they are in better shape than the others. And I find the legends to small for my liking.

The "A" pretty bad.
After saw the picture you show to us, I feel this look like Filco stock keycaps too. Which the font will faded after long run.
Good share. But your keycaps no sign of shining, just font faded. whistling.gif

You may prepare for another brand as backup. Rosewill brown always out of stock, since so many seekers want that keyboard.
Please watch this video as intro, may helpful when you choose mechanical keyboard.

It looks abit better in the pic than irl.

What about the keycool pbt/poms keycaps? Are they also laser engraved with infill or are they laser etched?
