hi sifu-sifu,

Is V-kool really good? Quoted their top range solitaire series, about 2k for front windscreen + driver + front passenger windows.....mine is MPV so the windscreen is huge, the rear windows and rear windscreen had been double darken tint. So only need to tint the front 3 pcs to avoid JPJ/polis kacau and get good heat protection.

Im surveying and happened to bump into these 2 inhouse films (Black Knight Window Film and UV Kool Tint). Both of their pricing is very competitive and the product offers quite similar either ceramic or sputter. Anyone of you here can feedback if they r good and reliable. TQ

Solitaire series is SG market specific (X75 and X83 variants for front to comply with SG LTA regs), and possibly in some other countries in the West. Why is the shop selling SG/international market stuff here? For a regular sized sedan, V-Kool Solitaire + Vseries full car coverage is around SGD1,500 - 1,800 (maybe higher nowadays) so RM2k for front section of car seems to be believable, but you better check on the warranty situation. Nothing I’ve read from NVK Interior (local V-Kool official MY distributor) says anything about the Solitaire series. Also, Solitaire is actually lower performing (in terms of TSER) compared to Elite (which is V-Kool top-end JPJ compliant tint for MY market), so you’re paying an unnecessary premium, imho.

yes I am aware that the Solitaire series was offered outside of Malaysia market (China got also).
You are right, I did do some survey and NVK Interior (local V-Kool official MY distributor) didn't say anything about the Solitaire series.

Interesting point is, the tint shop I enquired is actually one of the authorize distributors (TINT-SHOP) listed under V-Kool Malaysia website, I did enquire them for the V-Kool Elite series and the price was a few hundred cheaper than Solitaire series.
Warranty is 8 yrs (Solitaire) vs 5 yrs (Elite).

It’s possible the websites aren’t up-to-date. Visit NVK Interior or TINT-SHOP website and one can tell they were designed donkey years ago. Even their promotions are already outdated. Last I visited a TINT-SHOP they still only quoted me for the usual Elite73/55/40/30 packages, so maybe Solitaire is really new here. What variant of Solitaire were you offered and what was the spec (VLT & TSER) listed? Did the shop promise official warranty (physical card) authorized by NVK Interior?

As a JB resident, all I can advice is to avoid any business under the FiPai group. Those people big cheats. If V-Kool, best you go straight to TINT-SHOP to enquire. Afaik, that’s the only business is Johor that will provide official nationwide V-Kool warranty. 3M harder to say because a lot of fakes around.

They quoted me this spec.
https://v-kool.com/sites/vkoolprd/files/doc...e_Specs2020.pdf

Can't see the TSER data on Elite series so I can't compare both series. From the pricing they quoted me it seems like Solitaire series is newer than Elite series, so few hundred higher.

The V-Kool (by NVK interior) website did mention if u do v-kool tint at any TINT-SHOP, any warranty is from TINT-SHOP.

"Meanwhile, customers who have installed V-KOOL™ window films with our Tint-Shop Master Distributors or Tint-Shop Authorized Dealers are required to claim warranty directly from your original installation outlet."
