Guys...currently got quoted as below from the tint shop for new City. Not sure which one to go for. Which one is better in term of heat reject rate or value for price quoted?

3M - Crystalline 70 FWS & RWS + Nano 70 for 4 sides. 2K
Llumar - PP50 FWS & RWS + T4-50 for 4 sides. 1.5K

Raytech - still havent go check the price or spec. Any recommend spec?
Ultra 70 front & rear + C85 for side?

What will be the best film for FWS then? i mean in Llumar. Previously the guy gave me ATS50 if i m not wrong, he then upgrade it to PP50 for me without +$.
By the way, RM1.5K is it consider good deal for this spec?

hi guys,i tinted my grand livina with full huper optik C70 under smart window company and it cost me 2.6k

using it for 2 weeks i finally can't lying to myself anymore, the car still feels quite hot after parking under the sun for 1 hour and my arm definitely feels the burn with sunlight directly shine in from side window.

the performance is about the same as my RM600 tint on my old myvi (2 years old tint)

is my expectation too high for 2.6k tint or HU memang like that,spending that much money i expect the feeling of under shade

my receipt says C70 all around,basically i just request them for the best heat rejection package

i sat in car with V-kool before,its not the same,i don't feel any burn at all

in my car,the tint color is very light,probably to comply to the JPJ regulation,but when the sun is shine in through the front windscreen,you'll feel your eyes very glaring,almost closing your eyes

worse still when you rest your arm near the side window,its so hot

i perform a blind test asking some of my friend sit in my car without telling them about the tint, they though i put in chapalang tint

yes i know we had to comply to jpj rules,but the idea of expensive tint is to comply and still having good tint performance right,especially at 2.6k

not let the SA do it. if he/she got voucher for u, just take it.

after which some times, he/she call u asking do u use the voucher (wanna confirm the tint shop pay him/her due commission), just say lately u are short of cash flow, not planning to tint in near period.

Reporting back after 6.5 years of using huper optik c40 and c60. Just like new the first day.

SmartTAG, GPS all still good and no issues. Heat rejection is still as good as the first day.

Every single product have their life span.
However the life span are depends on the technology and the product material.

Metal Based film have longer lifespan compare to Ceramic Based.
When the product absorption are high, it will quicken the lifespan of the product as the film always perform at the limit.

Ceramic made product most likely will decayed faster than metal made product.

What I read the metallic based tint is good on heat reflect. But it have tendency to become deteriorate after 5-6 years.

Off coz better to choose the film based on TSER percentage.

The deteriorates is not able to claim warranty if i not wrong?

When evaluating tints always look at the following:

1) Brand
2) Price
3) Color
4) Thickness
5) IRR
6) VLT
7) TSER
8) Break strength (for security tints)
9) Puncture strength (for security tints)
10) Warranty terms (manufacturer or shop warranty)
11) Warranty duration

The best tints are those with high VLT, TSER and IRR. In our climate we need IRR min 95% if not it will still be warm inside.

Also if ure choosing security tints, the break strength is very important. Not so much the thickness. Some tints have same 6mil thickness but their break strength is low.

And don't forget there are many tint applicators who buy the tints separately and provide you with shop warranty. Always insist on full manufacturer warranties e.g warranty card must be from the official manufacturer not the shop it self. Llumar provides e-cert which you can register online.

Ive been using Llumar Diamond 6 high grade security tint on my F10 LCI since Dec 2015. Now just installed my wife's Civic for RM2,800 at Regal Valet, Jalan Damansara near TTDI, KL.

VLT - 63%
TSER - 59%
IRR - 97%
Break strength - 181Ib/inch
Thickness - 6mil (150micron)
Warranty - 10 yrs
Color - greenish

The warranty is from Llumar la.

So whats the right spec?

The specs are the same ones I obtained online. And I don't need to shoot anybody. My own car tint were installed by BMW as part of my package.

The color, VLT, UV, Break Strength & Puncture strength figures are the same.

So why do u say the Malaysian spec is fake? 

Yes there is a small difference. But why say its fake? Even with cars, u get the same model with different specs rite? Doesn't mean the product is fake? Its just a different spec for Asian market.

Its not TSER 59% become 43%. Its the other way around.

The international spec for Llumar 6mil (not sure if that is Diamond 6 or not) is TSER 43%. The Malaysian version claims it is 59% which is not a drop but a higher spec. Even if its not true and its actually only 43%, it is in line with the international specs correct?

So its different to what u are implying. If u say that the international specs claim the TSER is 59% and the local version is only 43% then u can say its a downgrade. But that's not the case here.
