yeah......once enough, scare already. but i didn't really go there for 1yr, and never notice that they closed down already. Ahhh.......my tint warranty gone case already since they tell me that I can only go back to that shop for warranty. Never provide me any warranty card at all.



Anyhow, I learned a lesson here, hope everyone aware of unethical tinted shop.

Anyone heard of Huper Optik ACHT? It's the same Select series as SECH but with higher VLT=77% and TSER=46%. Seems pretty good choice for FWS without needing to worry about JPJ once and for all.

Actually I found it at Breyton tint shop in Penang. Was told this is new.

I know the Malaysia HO website did not list ACHT but since Breyton is listed as the official dealer so i guess it shouldn't be fake. Maybe it's still new, but just checking if anyone else has the chance to tint this in their car 

IF 77% VLT can offset the VLT reduction of the original FWS, then shoulnt have any issue with JPJ. I would rather comply with JPJ rather than get the saman and claim back from tint shop. And 46% TSER is pretty decent for a relatively clear tint.

Salesman offered me Hypergard (used to be Agard) security tint for 1.2k. Anyone used this brand before and have feedback?

1) Solar Gard RM1450
2) V-kool armorcoat RM2850
3) v-kool security film RM4400

Can anyone explain me the differences and your suggestion?

For the ACHT 75 tint film, some dealer might be imported it from Singapore directly since Malaysia distributor didn't sell it.
I already make calls to both Malaysia and Singapore office of Huper Optik.
But still, there is a risk of the ACHT 75 is fake.   
I ask few shops in Penang and Butterworth, they do carry ACHT75.     

Hmm....if i choose ACHT75 i wonder if the dealer will give Smart Window warranty...

I want to install a tint on a 2006 merc b-class rear windshield.

I want to install Huper Optik Sech60. Anybody got the idea on the perice range? I got quote RM380 all in.

This is a great thread and been following it the past 1 year. Now I got my own car and thinking of putting a tint on it.

Im looking more into the security film rather than solar film since mostly it will be my wife driving it and she park indoor. If both, should be better.

So far what I've read, you guys are recommending vkool, 3M and HO. What is the price range for all these brand? Any other brand I should consider?

My car is BMW 118i and of course, I want it to be JPJ compliant (70%, 50%, 30%).

How to check if the tinted Huper Optik is original? Have not received the warranty card yet, anyway to check it on my windows?

I did get a HO receipt with serial number on the spot but not sure if that is the application form.

about 4 weeks...

i got the receipt but the shop said will file the application for me. So i guess will call them up after 8 weeks. Just thought there is a method to eyeball check on the tint itself. I remember i called Smart Window before and the person mentioned something about rainbow effect to check for authenticity. Any idea what is that?

If you want legal it has to be 90% VLT tint for the front. Max allowed front is VLT 70%. Most cars front windscreen is already at 80 to 90% VLT without any tinting. Putting on 70% on front will bring it lower than the allowed 70%. If you go to good installers they will tell you this. The ones who want to rip you off will keep quiet hoping that you won't realise.

There is also no such thing as JPJ approved as JPJ does not and never approve products. They approve individual cars that is brought in for inspection and approval is only given to that car.

That makes every VLT 70% tint out there non JPJ compliance for the front and you install at your own risk.

Raytech and Llumar both are under same company called Eastman (used to own Kodak Film).

If u go under Commonwealth Laminating...can c the remark below a subsidiary of Eastman...well Llumar is always under Eastman...

So now i have more confidence in Raytech films...

Now im confused whether to go for (Raytech Centurion + Ultra 70) or (3M C70 + Nano)

Any advise which to go for (heat rejection first, security second)? Price both around 2.2-2.4k

im pretty sure Raytech(commonwealth laminating) and LLumar films comes from same parent company Eastman...

yeah different factory is doing it (eventho same parent) but im just saying these brands are reputable cos all from Eastman...wont go wrong...

at least if these brands post the TSER,IRR, the security tensile strength and etc stats in the website, it would be trustworthy rather than other "home brand" can simply write TSER 75% and IRR 99%
