QUOTE(Koki @ Dec 21 2013, 11:47 PM) Kill HDD never mind, my laptop has an mSATA and another HDD Yes, that answers your question. LR is a very simple program with a lot more limitations compared to PS, yet a lot more simple and easy to use. One thing I like about LR is the menu layout and also the ability to do non-destructive editing by letting you to undo your editings anytime. While in PS the only think you can do is save in PSD if you want to revert your settings one day, not to mention a lot more complicated editings compared to LR.LR and PS if same type of processing they can do, why adobe like to release so many subsets of the same thing cheaper price for software specifically for photography processing? |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Dec 22 2013, 09:05 PM) Happy Winter Solstice! ohhh ok, thanks for the info. always so takut when bump into them since they are so large and the sound they made while flying is really loud too. yeah #3 is quite rare i think, very tiny in size and always hide in the darker area. #4 is really weird bug, they are everywhere around Kari leaves, but never move away, just stay there. haha no tripod and no stacking, all shot with Tamron 70-200 f2.8 with some cropping. that lens will be damn perfect for macro if it has a little better magnification since I can shoot faraway with it.Nice shots man! #1 should be a Phintella versicolor ♂, don't think its a baby haha #2 is a juvenile Cosmophasis thalassina. They love to point their abdomens upwards while moving~ And they become very beautiful when grown up: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « #2 is not an easy shot since this particular species is always on the go lol, great one! #1 is an orange-banded hornet, not to be trifled with #2 is a young housefly I think, whereas #3 is a signal fly (nice find!) But what amazed me most is #4 haha, don't even know what it is! Nice one shooting with tripod and stacking EDIT: Okay, myth solved. It's the larva of a species of Tortoise Bettle called Silana farinosa. It looks really damn different compared to the bug itself, no wonder I spot those white guys around them. the white guy. http://tchuanye.smugmug.com/Macro-Photogra...300_VgF9x-L.jpg This post has been edited by mingyuyu: Dec 23 2013, 12:50 AM |

QUOTE(jepertine90 @ Dec 24 2013, 06:01 PM) looks fake to me after the editing. and you can simply use the adjustment brush to recover the details on the skirt by brushing on it and decrease the exposure by around half stop.QUOTE(copperwire93 @ Dec 24 2013, 06:37 PM) Nice, I didn't focus on the white dress until others mentioned about it tho. My eyes went straight to her face haha thanks, what I love about that lens is I have a nice working distance (about 1 meter) from any bugs and 200mm can really blows everything in the bg into one color patch Can use brush tool man. Carefully painting the white areas of the dress and while still in brush tool, lower down highlight, or lowering a bit of exposure, add some contrast I think. Still can be recovered. Great work, man I don't even have a zoom lens for this. I like the moth's wings, if only can see the pattern clearer. QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 26 2013, 05:02 PM) Wait guys...The 35mm f/1.8G lens don have manual aperture ring, means it is impossible to reverse lens if i want to play macro? Hmm... Nikon lenses' aperture is controlled by the tiny clip thingy right? If yes, is it possible to use DOF preview and remove the lens like Canon? |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 27 2013, 04:08 PM) Read alot of entry level DSLR recommendation threads today... because it's more common lo. just like why most phone shops will recommend samsung/ iphone to people when they want to buy new phone. same logic also, any brand can take good picture, just that you must like the camera you had in your hand. when i bought my 550D last year, i only took like 3-4days to master the buttons/ controls, while with my friend's nikon, i can clearly tell you nikon's menu is a lot more complicated and harder to use for beginner. Curiously i wonder why ppl seldom recommend Nikon entry level DSLR if compare to Canon and Sony? I read alot of reviews, those in depth analysis, also shown output quality from Nikon is higher than other brands in the same class. The most commendable item for Nikon is hard to learn for newbie in fact they know the quality of Nikon is better. I dun know, before i own my D3200 less than 2 months ago, i have almost near to nil knowledge regarding the relation of exposure, shutter and aperture. But after less than 2 months, i already able to use manual mode now. Almost every night at home since i bought, i will take out my Nikon to play around even though i have nothing special to shoot (Yesterday i check my shutter count, reached 3359 just over 6 weeks), just shoot and compare the difference of each setting, read and understand the histogram, read online guide, read camera magazine (5th issue bought this week). IMO, Nikon menu setup is not as hard as they mentioned, each items has guide on that, just press a little '?' button will do. For me just same as driving a brand new manual car and learn all the characteristic from the feedback of the car. My opinion, if ones feel difficult to learn, is not becos it is difficult, just they dun have enough patient and passion for it. Then i would recommend taking compact cam rather than DSLR, cheap and easy to use. Just my thought. QUOTE(Agito666 @ Dec 27 2013, 04:48 PM) not to mention Fuji is chasing up too samsung actually make better cameras than sony (the NEX is really crappy imo after trying it out). and if you go and check samsung's lenses lineup, there are plenty of good glass from them (85mm f1/4, quality macro with OS etc), while all sony offers to nex is crappy slow zoom.well canon in that range i don't think can fight with. and Samsung i'm not sure, but got a little for the market due to the name i guess... |

QUOTE(amduser @ Dec 28 2013, 10:16 PM) sometime i really wonder if nikon is really using sony sensors, i've seen many sony camera doesn't capture good low light shoots like nikon does no la, canon lenses all have internal built-in motors, that's why you have EF/ EFS lenses thats made for EOS cameras.canon lens is cheap because they dont have focus motor inside, but their lens lineup is more like quantity > quality, i heard their 35mm 1.8 prime is really bad at wide open and need to stop down to f2.8 and above what i like about nikon is the dynamic range and the color, tried to do single image HDR on canon and nikon and i like nikon RAW file more and canon having larger user base most likely is because of the advertisement and sponsored event from canon malaysia, you dont really see much nikon sponsored event, even advertisement also not as much as canon NEX crappy? i thought nex is better than sony alpha entry level and peoples always talking about nex nex nex but one thing i dont like about sony dslr is the electronic viewfinder, used too much battery, i've seen some sony user posting in their facebook that their camera can only last for one day for normal usage in event hmm... but I don't really like NEX at all, last time when I played one at sony store, it just felt cheap and plasticky, not to mention the horrible menu system. not many good lenses available too, it's more aimed to consumer market rather than the pro market. the A7/A7R is a totally different story though |
