M17x r4 always come with 3 heat pipe, only the new Alienware 17th 2013, 2014 have dual heat pipe configuration

nice thanks for the clarification. if that's the case it's just the gpu if the adapter is sufficient biggrin.gif

i just wanted to let you know that there are options when your gpu is getting overheated or the laptop has not enough juice to run.

for power adapter option, my m17x r4 has many stuff put in and connected to, so i swap it with a stronger one. the laptop only draws the enough power from adapter so it's safe. using higher-power adapter also means it generates less heat (less stressful)

How much overall budget? hmm.gif

Been meaning to ask, if I wanted to upgrade the SSD (just wanted to double confirm, I need the m.2 type is it?), what brand should I go for? Is the installing easy as plug and play type of install?

what's your laptop model?

for m.2 sata, we have very limited choices here. plextor m6g is the only so far that are 'more common'.

check out the manual for steps to install it. after that you might need to reinstall/migrate/clone your os onto it.

no such issues here.

try unplug it from power source, disconnect the battery from the laptop, and then drain the power by pressing the power button for 20 seconds.

M17x R4 no problem at all.
GTX 970m is currently most bang of buck laptop graphics card.
*
Bro, do you also do repairs?
My m17x r4 can't detect the gtx660 it came with and I'm not sure if its the card or motherboard is the problem.
And if its the card, I'm interested to upgrade it.

I do repair, but it depends what kind of repair. I am not a skillful repairman. Haha...
Well, to find out mobo or gpu problem. just swap a working gpu and test out.
I have a ready stock GTX 660m in my hand can test out.
