QUOTE(azamalin @ Mar 12 2015, 02:10 AM) i changed the first hdd to te 2nd port. now im adding a new hdd and using 2 hdd. i will not go for raid this time. i will use it separately until i buy a new ssd. Sata operations in bios is usually determined and saved by the os, so if you change it, the os will not boot. For those who wanna use raid in the future, the easiest way is to set the sata operations to raid mode (aw defaults), then install os. Actually raid mode also have ahci functions needed by ssd, so you don't need to set it to ahci explicitly when you use ssd. This post has been edited by horns: Mar 12 2015, 10:35 AM

QUOTE(azamalin @ Mar 13 2015, 12:33 PM) its okay, i will install windows with ssd. bro, what is the best method to apply gc extreme? i just got mine today. before you apply gc-extreme, put the tube into hot water. it's easier to spread this way. usually i just put it in hot water, and start disassembling the laptop, clean the fans and vents, and remove the old thermal paste from cpu/gpu die and heat sink. once everything is completed, i take it out from hot water and apply it with rice/dot method. (put a rice size paste on the cpu/gpu die). you can determine the right amount of paste by sacrificing the first replacement, meaning apply some amount, secure heat sink, then take the heat sink out again and check the spread. if it covers 90% of the die, to me it's good, because when you use the computer, the heat will further help spreading also. now clean it up, and do it one more time. once you do that, secure the heat sink according to the sequences labelled on the heat sink. do not use force to secure the screws. (if it's too tight the die will break, and you cpu/gpu is gone)
