QUOTE(mryellow19 @ Dec 2 2013, 05:05 PM)
I saw 42000 in Tropicana BBT on Saturday but when I looked at their price tag, it does not have the discount tag. Not sure if 42000 is discounted in Tropicana BBT. If it is, most probably the stock is gone as well.
*
I also saw a few boxes of 42000 in BBT Tropicana Mall and was told the same story by the staff. He claimed the "sales stock" of 42000 haven't arrived so the sets on display are the full priced ones, I don't get it... rclxub.gif doh.gif

I sent my friend to BBT Gardens Mall on Sunday morning and initially he was disappointed that there weren't any left, he was there at 10:20am and they only re-stocked a few sets. Luckily he was persistent and asked the staff to check if they have any in the back room, he came out with the final set! rclxm9.gif Seems they will re-stock more 42000 in the coming weeks....

No thanks to the weather, my boss decided to take the office for lunch at BV today! I took the opportunity to have a quick look at the sales and sadly nothing new to report. Still have 5 sets of 7498 if anyone is still interested, Spiderman Daily Bugle left 2 sets. Only thing new I spotted was a few sets of 4439 Heavy-lift helicopter...

Looking at how "slow" things are at BV2 perhaps ALJ will be forced to sweeten the deal in the coming weeks if they are not on track to clear all their stocks...

Gd morning!

Show off some vouchers before Voucher King Tan Sri show off his, sure cannot beat him one! icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(ilfort @ Dec 2 2013, 10:01 PM)
even my friend told me that. let us patiently wait. Hahaha

I guess only this year we have suck sales, after this will be lesser since this round is ALJ clearing stock since lost of distributorship.
*
We should all boycott their sales until everything is at least 50% off! They should get very desperate by Xmas if stock levels still high especially for those unpopular sets. Even yesterday it was soooo quiet at BV2. Star Wars sets are popular and that's why you don't see them pushing out the stock, I'm sure they have lots of SW stocks in their warehouse...

QUOTE(epite @ Dec 2 2013, 10:40 PM)
just wonder ... any price different between BV / AK with TRU ?
Are 3 of them offering the same discount now ? or different .. Seems BV is offering much better 30/35/50 % discount ....
*
I think prices are the same everywhere but the discounts given is different. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think TRU only have promo for Chima Speedorz, everything else is at normal price.

QUOTE(treehill @ Dec 3 2013, 02:11 AM)
Bro, I notice 1 of the legend of chima lego got 50% discount whether a day earlier or previous week didnt notice that. Maybe slowly they will give more discount especially for those which they cant clear the stock? Got 1 item also where it has 2 stickers. Before that was 30% but now at 35%. Not sure this is mistake or they are reducing the price further.
*
Let's hope it is the case!! rclxm9.gif Must be at least 50% off everything to spur the next buying spree, everyone now slow down and reloading bullets. Taikuns are just waiting for the right moment to pounce! hahaha! icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(savien @ Dec 3 2013, 08:50 AM)
Hmm... any reports from Avenue K? Can we use the vouchers at BV2 or Avenue K now? Wanna use it to buy the Police Station... sigh... Was hoping BBT has it.. but only the Mountain Police Station is on discount... so sad...

My friend going to Avenue K later today. I'll report if I hear anything news worthy. nod.gif

QUOTE(nuondanet @ Dec 3 2013, 11:43 AM)
i don't think this is true, there's no such wording in the T&C. it only states that to qualify to GET the voucher you need to spend some minimum. after that spend away!
*
Yeah, this morning when I took the photos I also took a peek at the conditions and initially got a shocked that I have to spend RM300 to use one voucher! rclxub.gif Then I read again and it said "qualify" so basically no conditions, just use as cash only. icon_rolleyes.gif

Good morning... recently I found that my Lego Star Wars collection is still the largest theme in my Lego collection. This is despite my efforts over the past few months to get rid of those 'ugly ships' (as wifey refers them). I've regretfully sold off some off my UCS and vintage SW sets, but still all these remain... and photo does not include multiples and some others stashed away in secret places around the house.

haha..noted on the advice..still newbie on bricklink..only 5 feedback tongue.gif

Ooh! Better be extra careful then! Not saying it is dodgy but if you want to buy parts you should stick with BL sellers who are specialised in selling parts... These sellers would have thousands of feedbacks and huge inventories. And their parts are usually in very good condition. Everyone can list their parts as "New" but there is a difference between a good and not so good seller. Good seller who sort and store their parts carefully will yield shiny as new out of the box parts. Sellers who just throw everything into a parts bin and have everything rub against each other will yield a tired looking part even though it was taken new out of the box and never used...

Is it a rare part you are after? If so then no choice and take the risk. Otherwise, if it is a common part then it is better to buy from European or Asian sellers. Shipping should be cheaper and most importantly nearer to us means shorter transit times. I'm of the opinion that shorter transit times has a lower risk of accidents, damages, or missing parcels. I always forgo insurance (unless seller insists) and top up instead for faster shipping. My dua sen. icon_rolleyes.gif

Recently bitten by SW bug and now thinking of building a small Stormtroopers army. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif Hunted for Stormtroopers minifigs and am baffled by so many variants!! rclxub.gif

Can I check with the SW sifus here which is the 'best' variant? Link here to Brickset Stormtroopers

My regular BL seller offer me two pieces of chrome Stormtrooper for around 30 Euros each. Worth it? Is it nice? Will the chrome bits come off?

I also have this crazy idea to buy the Stormtrooper keychains and remove the keychain part, that will definitely leave a hole in the helmet right? Anyone done this?

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

Cheapest I think are the black headed and light flesh headed ones. But again I doubt the price difference would be very much for all variants. Also I personally think 30 euro for chrome stormtrooper is a little on the high side (not that I own one but wishing to have one laugh.gif ).
*
QUOTE(faish888 @ Dec 4 2013, 07:29 PM)
If you can, I suggest you get the Stormtrooper magnet from LLM... half the price of keychain. Just depends on your preference of where the hole will be... (that didnt' sound right) biggrin.gif

IIRC, Chrome stormtrooper from local resellers should be cheaper cheaper than 30 euros.

... but I am not a SW sifu smile.gif

QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ Dec 4 2013, 08:24 PM)

Confirm BV2 has stock, was there last night and saw at least 6 sets on the shelf. nod.gif The rush is over so very slow sales now... So you can take your time and buy at your leisure.

I spoke to one of the staff and told him to pass the message to his management that we're not buying anymore until they give better discounts and bring out more sets. The current stock is stagnant. laugh.gif

Do you see any 2014 sets that comes with Stormtroopers? I see only clone troopers... sad.gif But then again I'm not a big SW fan so I may not follow the latest news...

QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ Dec 5 2013, 10:47 AM)
which is better is subjective. tongue.gif

Amongst the 2, not much difference except the torso and the head (which you cant see after pakai helmet). My personal choice amongst stormies is the helmet only. since both are the same, whichever is chearper and can get in bulk for army building is preferred.
army building means want many of the same minifigs. unless they have other projects for the other parts, or they sell their spare parts, normally ppl just bricklink.
I heard btff are sold in pharmacies and some other weird places in UK. and prob can get cheaper there. Is that true?
lego prices are not set by the distributor. they are set by the principal. the reduction in prices have been forthcoming for the past year now. TLG is trying to expand its reach. whoever that is taking the new distro rights is in for a good ride!
*
Agree, to me the attraction is the helmet so what's under the helmet is not important. Then the other consideration is the torso, the new design (sw366) is nice but not common. Priced over RM20-30, buy 10 already pokai liao how to create an army? rclxub.gif

I also prefer sw366 but it looks like quite exclusive since at present only two sets contain it: 9489 (discontinued) and 10236 (mega set). So prices are high... sad.gif

Bought it for US$20 during Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend sales. I saw it mentioned in Brickset (I think) and dumped one into my Amazon cart some time back not realising what I was buying into. Recommended so I just buy. tongue.gif And during the sales weekend I needed to meet the minimum order value so I put it to the checkout... Now I'm happy I did that! rclxm9.gif

Haha! I have no idea what I want to do with my 'army' if I ever amass one... doh.gif I think it just look cool to line them up and shoot some photos. laugh.gif

I have like 10 Stormtrooper keychains and it was fun posing them for photos that's what got me started... It was a big struggle to keep them standing with the chain and ring always getting in the way! lol! shakehead.gif

Just checked Amazon and it is now US$23.17 so not a big increase...
