Anyone know if there is any service provided to fix a mechanical keyboard ( Razer Blackwidow )?

I'm having issue with this "1" button. It's like i pressed 10 times, but only 7-8 "1" came out. It's really annoying when I'm trying to multi control something in game.

Too much mis-click happen with that issue sad.gif..

If no more warranty, then feel free to open it up and do a switch replacing.

If still got, then might as well send to RMA, less hassle.

razer blackwidow uses blue switches that requires you to release the key fully after pressing it or the key wont register, maybe you press the key too fast or didnt release the key high enough. any otai want to clarify summore?

Switches do worn out after prolonged use. In fact some switch had much shorter life spans, probably QC issues.

If you don't feel like replacing the switches, then at list get a air compressor and blow into the switches to see if it helps.

Blow into the switches? You mean take the button out and blow it? Or the 1 inside the keyboard?

Sorry for my noobness doh.gif

You need to dismantle the keyboard's top case to reach the pcb of the keyboard, it may require a lot of patient and some skills to done it right, if not you might end up scratching or broking the case (it is quite fragile).

After get the access to the switches, you need to desolder the old switches and replace it with a new switch.

IINM, abang 016 should still had some blue switch lying around.

For blow in part, it will work only if the issue is caused by dirt get into the switch. You should first remove the keycaps, press down the key stem and blow air into it.

More bling bling..
The key casing from current black to transparent. rclxms.gif
The LED capable cycling about 16.7M color.
MX RGB available in 4 types switches; blue , brown, red, black. sad.gif
So, current MX Blue, MX Brown, MX Red, MX Black naming will turn to MX RGB Blue, MX RGB Brown, MX RGB Red, MX RGB Black with added LED and transparent case.
So, just add some eye candy.

Nothing innovate here. Just follow the normal trends of LED era.
They replaced single color with cycling color LED

LOL, I am expecting some working prototype, but all I saw are just some rendered image... doh.gif

Am interested to know what changes they had done to allow RGB led to be mounted onto a new switches which look like having a similar dimension as old one. If want controllable RGB LED, the minimum no of pins is 4 pins, which is a little too compacted on the small MX switches. Most existing RGB LED is 5mm (too fat for cherry MX), 4 pins and not all color can work at the same time.

BTW, again, Plum seems to be more fast poke here with the RGB led nano 75 (using their own switches though).
1. Plum 96 come out a tad earlier than CM QF TK.
2. Plum capacitive switches come out a tad earlier than CM Topre Switches with Cherry MX compatible stem.
3. RGB LED switches on nano75 come out a tad earlier than the corsair cherry RGB MX.

There must be some conspiracy behind all these coincident, LOL.

p/s: I think I found the keywords - surface-mount RGB LED

Good thing about it though.
Now don't have to desolder LED when changing keyswitches.
Also, you get a more balance underswitch lighting.

The bad part is, these plastics will yellow in the future.

How much per caps? Or it's per set. BTW, what's the news for anodize aluminum casing?

You saw working prototype already?

I still hadn't saw it, still wondering what and how exactly they mount the RGB LED onto the same tiny switches. Even those SMD RGB LED is still a tad too big for the small cherry mx IMHO.

EDIT: Just rewatch the intro video, dafuq? They are wholly rely on the LED which is mount on the PCB under the transparent switches? I don't think the end result will be good... Also, not to mention the light pollution by adjacent switches and how plate mounted vs pcb mounted boards gonna differ...
