The price isn't the main concern. The main concern is the shipping price and the condition of the board (some model M is very old, and need to repair or replace some of the component to make it functional).

Also, if possible, try to find those SSK (tkl) one, it had higher value. Like this,

what end game board are you talking about? brows.gif

but isn't kmac2 cost USD$430 or so? with addition of pcb and plate of course....hmm...

the illusive 456GT

even if someone is willing to part with theirs, everyone would go crazy and it will be a bidding duel to the death

can get preowned and assembled KMAC 2 for $400, much more worth it

Recheck my previous post, edited a lot of it.

BTW, I think is one is worth it, reliable seller, new or almost new condition.

Or if you are still too skeptical to spend over RM300-400 for a old keyboard from taobao, try this, the sale record are quite a lot.

According to the buyers' reviews, the first one is indeed selling new (or at least look new) IBM Model M, which is kind of extremely rare nowadays, hence justify the extra price tag.

But as you said, 2nd hnd is ok for you then can get those 2nd hand one (cz you gonna paid for the insane amount of shipping cost later).

Different pricing for the converter.

So, whats your possible choice?

New (or quite new) fullsize? Cheap 2nd hand fullsize? SSK?

BTW, just incase you are unaware, last time there are such theory in GH, that the grey logo one is having better quality and QC than the blue logo one.

Hey guys, I recently purchased a Filco Ninja 2 Cherry MX and this is my first mechanical keyboard. I must say that it feels very solid, and very loud. It will mostly be used in my home.

Days after the purchase, I was planning to purchase another type of switch - Topre switch keyboard. Currently I'm torn between Realforce 87u and HHKB Pro 2. Though right now I'm learning towards HHKB for its compact layout. I wouldn't mind the lack of arrow keys tongue.gif

Any owner that have the luxury to own both Topre and share your experience?

So far these are what I know from the reviews that I had found online, particularly from Geekhack.
Realforce
- More smooth landing than HHKB
- Metal plate. A bit of harsh feel when bottoming out

HHKB2
- More landing resistance.
- No metal plate, bottoming out does not feel harsh
- Different layout, akin to UNIX layout style.

Wouldn't really want to make an impulse purchase just to regret it later since they are not cheap compared to my Filco Ninja.

Get 87U, available at someone's siggy at only RM600.

If you consider getting a new one, it gonna cost up quite a lot extra for the shipping and proxy.

I see. But I'm somewhat leaning on HHKB Pro 2 if the typing experience is almost similar to Realforce.

BTW, diaBoliQu3, just get confirmation from Plum that the non-led version of Plum Morphling 87 do really support LED mod, the suitable LED is those red/yellow/orange one which having a working voltage around 1.8-2.2V.
"有预留灯孔和电路,可以改灯,推荐1.8v-2.2v,也支持高亮度,同类产品还有mini双模84"
