Hey guys, I recently purchased a Filco Ninja 2 Cherry MX and this is my first mechanical keyboard. I must say that it feels very solid, and very loud. It will mostly be used in my home.

Days after the purchase, I was planning to purchase another type of switch - Topre switch keyboard. Currently I'm torn between Realforce 87u and HHKB Pro 2. Though right now I'm learning towards HHKB for its compact layout. I wouldn't mind the lack of arrow keys tongue.gif

Any owner that have the luxury to own both Topre and share your experience?

So far these are what I know from the reviews that I had found online, particularly from Geekhack.
Realforce
- More smooth landing than HHKB
- Metal plate. A bit of harsh feel when bottoming out

HHKB2
- More landing resistance.
- No metal plate, bottoming out does not feel harsh
- Different layout, akin to UNIX layout style.

Wouldn't really want to make an impulse purchase just to regret it later since they are not cheap compared to my Filco Ninja.

I see. But I'm somewhat leaning on HHKB Pro 2 if the typing experience is almost similar to Realforce.

Nope, if want, get the IMSTO one, with an adaptive centred capslock for compatibility with OEM keyboards (filco included).

Hey Arcisal. Taobao sure has a lot of keycap seller, you may refer to IMSTO.

Right now I'm going to place my order for Thick PBT with non-printed keycaps. So lucky that he is selling that. It's a bit pricey though haha.

many people don't know that imsto pbt is such good.
because it is so expensive when people heard the price of RM300 for a set of keycaps then all straight away turn off.
But never know that the feeling is so good to type.
may surprise in order cart on that day

Agreed. I just placed my order and hopefully can get it within the next 3 days [=)

Wat?

I thought you just place order ytd?

Ship from taobao to agent warehouse may took 1 to 3days.

From agent to marehsia, normally took another 1 to 3 days. Reach marehsia, then count luck liao. If lucky, the next morning start shipping liao, if bad luck, may delay long long...

Order placed yesterday but only clear payment just now (have complication with VISA).

Btw I'm not in Malaysia XD

Hey guys, given the fact that Topre switches are best of the best switch, I'd expect to pay a premium price for them. However, HHKB seemed to be slightly expensive. Look at the fact that I could purchase the Type-S for around 29,800 Yen (~RM 937). Search through EliteKeyboard returned a listing price of USD 400 and Taobao ranging around RM1100-1300. With the said price, I can only see the standard version on Taobao. So I was wondering is the additional RM300-400 goes into the shipping price?

sorry i can only tell you answer by tmr (my first MKB blue switches day), but rk9000 is always a good model to be recommended by the experts kaki here, like human10 recommended me last time  blush.gif
my first MKB im glad that i grabbed a ducky zero shine 2108 blue led blue switches biggrin.gif
i mainly use index and middle finger for typing only, i feel it's because of my "pretty-long-fingers" (not lc sorry =.=) i hope i can full maximize my fingers on typing usage, ring finger (left hand) like used for "a" key only, ring finger of right hand almost 0% working.. then pinky finger of left used for shift ctrl, pinky finger of right hand used for enter , thumbs used for space.. long time practice made me adapted with this typing style, still can beyond 100wpm, but yes, as human10 said, try to correct and relearn the right way to type.  hmm.gif

With the proper typing style and layout you can easily achieve beyond 150 WPM~ brows.gif
