The Non=Reference is coming out soon...VERY SOON!But if you can't wait,u can get Sapphire R9 280X Toxic 3GB DDR5 RM1299 from Viewnert. smile.gif
R9 280X Toxic is better than GTX770 btw.

There's the R9 290 Tri-X for RM1699... from Idealtech... brows.gif

Oh...im not sure if your PSU is 80+ Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum since i can't find it saying that on CM website.
The rating means the efficiency of the PSU,like if it's a 500W but not 80+,im sure it'll only give around 300-400 watts and if the PSU is 80+ Gold and has 650W,it'll give you 630-650W...but im not sure because im still learning about PSUs.  tongue.gif
*
Erm... It's the way around... sweat.gif
If your system unit demands 300W, and if your PSU has 80% efficiency, it will draw 375W from the wall socket... sweat.gif

So meaning that the real power for the psu? hmm..
So do you still think my psu enough?
I don't think my psu is rated for at least 80+.. biggrin.gif
*
Extreme 2? Might as just well throw that thing off to the bin...
Unless you have an entry level PC with minimal power requirements...

Efficiency only tells how little the power loss of the unit during the delivery of wattage. It has nothing to do with the unit quality.

Sir z87 extreme 3 is rm549... where is that price? Idealtech price is rm549 not 449....
And how to go to idealtech from genting?
*
If that's the case, consider the Giga Z87X-D3H... It has a more robust VRMs IINM.

Guys is this psu any good?
I wanna know ur opinion about this or this brand in particular.. smile.gif
*
Andyson built unit... I'd just avoid that unit...
700W is also overkill for almost every single GPU build...

Even a RM100 increment to a Seasonic unit is well worth the money.

So meaning it is not reliable enough for long term use? Becoz me first time heard the brand
AeroCool for psu.. iinm, this brand only for cases.. smile.gif
*
Aerocool isn't very well known for PSUs... Might as just well avoid that...
The E80 series are entry level units FYI...

Update on my last post: Note that the E80 is a HEC (Compucase) built unit, not Andyson... sweat.gif

Here's a review on the 600W unit:

Power ripple seems too high for me.... sweat.gif

Quite cheap for 80+ 700w psu.. that's why I wanna ask first..
Maybe I will buy the fsp hexa like sifus here recommenned.. smile.gif
One more, what is power ripple?
*
Power ripple means the oscillation of the current during delivery of power... tongue.gif
Again, it's quality over quantity. I'd rather have a decent 450W over a crappy 700W unit. Never skimp on the PSU. wink.gif

Ok... How about this?

No overclocking:
i5 4570-RM619
ASRock H87 Pro4-RM319
Corsair 1x8GB Value 1600 DDR3-RM239
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X-RM1699 (lingloong@Garage Sales)
WD Caviar Blue 1TB-RM189
Corsair Carbide 200R-RM229
Seasonic G-550-RM359
LiteOn DVD Writer-RM60
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD-RM360
Total: RM4073

For a 3.5K build, just downgrade the GPU to a Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X for RM1199... brows.gif

Hi, can anyone suggest me a gaming laptop around 4.5k with good battery life span? saw the X75-A7298 but heard the battery is horrible.
Am using the lappy for bf4, sc2, and some newer mmo, and also office work :3
*
Unfortunately, no. Almost all gaming laptops have horrible battery life.

Even the MSi GS70 has a 4 hour battery life if you set the brightness to low, along with using the integrated GPU.

If you want long battery life, your only choice is go with an Ultrabook... though they are unfit for gaming...

Hi guys,
just found out about this awesome thread for my rig upgrades

Processor: Intel Core i5 750
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55-M
RAM: 4GB KINGSTON DDR3-1333 (2GBx2)
Graphic Card: XFX HD5770 1GB D5

Budget - for individual pieces =~ 500-700
for total 1.5k (so comes up to 2-3 upgrades if possible)

Thank you everyone in advance !

what's.. PSU..and what's seasonic S1211? cooler and power supply?

and what do you mean by bottlenecking from CPU?
does it mean that my motherboard is due for change(upgrade)?
*
PSU means power supply unit, the part which is responsible for supplying power to your components... brows.gif
Seasonic S12II is a power supply unit manufactured by Seasonic, a very reputable manufacturer of PSUs.
CPU bottlenecking GPU happens when the CPU becomes too slow to handle the GPU. This can be negated by using by overclocking the CPU, or upgrading the CPU.

Hi guys, please suggest me a gaming rig :

Budget : 4k ~ 4.5k
Purpose : long hour gaming & normal usage
Hardwares that will be reuse : NONE
Monitor Resolution : 1600 x 900
Games & Softwares used frequently : Dota2, Assassin's Creed games, Borderlands 2, CS:GO, Civilization V, Torchlight II, GTA IV, BF 3 & 4, and any future games.  icon_rolleyes.gif
Personal Preferences : One that hopefully can last me at least 5 years and is easily upgradable in the future, also hopefully a chasis with red/blue lighting and an invisible side cover (DEM LIGHTINGS)  laugh.gif
Locations : KL
*
Whoa... That resolution... tongue.gif Do you have a monitor already? or you want to game at 20 inch resolution? sweat.gif
Note that the word 'upgradeable' is already obsolete... because Broadwell CPUs (the successor to the current Haswell CPU will require a brand new socket)
5 years is possible at this resolution, though bear in mind that there is no such thing as futureproofing.

Xeon E3-1230v3-RM789
ASUS B85M-G-RM285
Corsair 1x8GB Value 1600-RM239
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X-RM1699 *1
WD Caviar Blue 1TB-RM189
NZXT Phantom 410-RM325 *2
LiteOn DVD Writer-RM60
Seasonic S12II 620W-RM299
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD-RM360
CM Hyper TX3 EVO-RM85

Total: RM4330

Prices from Viewnet, CyntrixTech@Garage Sales, lingloong@Garage Sales, Idealtech@Garage Sales and GBros@Garage Sales.

I have included a cheap CPU cooler for noise reduction... tongue.gif

*1: You may replace with Gigabyte's R9 290 Windforce 3X or MSI R9 290 Gaming, wherever you like them the most.
*2: Choosing a case is pretty subjective. You may need to read up on some reviews and sample builds and pick the best one. tongue.gif

Note that you can pick up a LED addon for your case at pretty cheap price... about RM100 if I'm not mistaken.
