I think you can cut down your budget on:
RAM and board... Looks overpriced for me...
Gaming RAMs are more or less gimmicky... I'd rather get a Value RAM and save some cash...
600W looks overkill for your build.. A quality 500W like the FSP Hexa 500W for RM149 might do the trick...

chocobo7779 is absolutely correct. The keyword really is balance. Slowly, we are now starting to see games utilizing more than 2 cores, and that is where quad core processors slowly start to pull ahead of typical Core i3 / Pentium Dual Core in some of the recent games. If you can afford one, definitely go for at least an entry level quad core; e.g Intel i5 4430/4440 or AMD FX-8320/8350. This CPU should work very well with any of the newer GPUs out there in the market today. But if you're tight on budget, an i3 is still sufficient for today's standards.

1x8GB is fine...
5x last longer... marketing gimmick... laugh.gif
SuperFlower unit is better, and you do have a way to claim warranty from Gbros@Garage Sales and CyntrixTech@Garage Sales... tongue.gif (FYI, it's a one-to-one exchange if I'm not mistaken)

After reading 19 pages of this thread, i came up with my own build.

Asrock B85M Pro4 – RM279 (Viewnet)
Intel CORE I5 4670  - RM669 (Viewnet)
Zotac GTX780 Ti 3GB DDR5 RM2349
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM229 (Viewnet)
Western Digital  Caviar Blue 1TB HDD - RM189 (Viewnet)
Seasonic S12 II 620W PSU - RM299 (Viewnet)
Cooler Master CM 690 III - RM 339 (Viewnet)
LG 23EA63V led ips monitor - RM599 (Viewnet)
MS WINDOWS 8.1 full retail - 349 (C-Zone)

Total - RM 5301
Max budget - RM 6000, no overclocking, 1080p gaming.

This build is for my brother. He's going to use it for Battlefield 4 and upcoming titles like Titanfall. I need some advice here.

In your opinion, is SSD really necessary? According to my logic, It doesn't matter if you load first in multiplayer, for example in dota. You still need to wait for other 9 players.

Will he get diminishing return for buying 780ti, will it last for 3 years? or should he opt for 770, sell it next year and get 870, and sell it again the year after for 970?

Btw, where can i buy Zotac GTX780 Ti 3GB DDR5 for RM2349. I saw it in previous pages, but can't find any shop selling it.

The build looks good, though the monitor u can get Dell Dell UltraSharp U2312HM IPS-Panel Black 23" -RM629 instead which has a 5 years warranty in it.

The 780ti is currently the fastest single gpu at the moment, at 1080P it should run most right now at ultra settings. For the 780ti , u can look at Cycom which retail Zotac GTX 780ti 3GB-Rm2299. smile.gif

For SSD , yeah it does reduce the load time by quite a bit. Though in MP yup you still have to wait for other players to join in.

He prefers 23" because he plays DOTA, LAN standard. If he plays on 27" he need to readjust everytime he goes to LAN event.
Those extra budget can be used for Audio Technica ATH-M50, Antlion Modmic, and Asus Xonar DX for virtual surround. Currently we're using that headphone+mic combo on my PC, cant go back to cheap headphone anymore. Even Steelseries Siberia V2 on my other brother's PC feels and sounds like cheap made in china plastic toy(damn marketing gimmick), and if you know where to search, M50 actually cost almost the same as SS.

Actually he's still contemplating whether to get PS4+TV or PC. PS4+TV is cheaper, but in the long run its going to be more expensive because of overpriced games. Thanks to Lord Gaben we can enjoy good single player titles for as low as $10 come the steam sales. Even newly released multiplayer games on pc is RM30-RM40 cheaper than console games.

i've been thinking to get 2nd rig for myself since i share the current rig with everyone in the house so here is my idea.

- compact gaming and editing rig
- can play most of the game ultra/high settings
- 21'5 or 23 inch monitor would be ok

my budget around RM2.8k to RM3.5k with monitor of course.

Idealtech suggest me some of the idea for my rig already but i was thinking maybe sifus here can suggest for me as well.
