7770 around RM400+ d. Since he's still young, i'll suggest u to reduce hdd to 500gb maybe, so, u can use the rest for casing around RM150 such as small casing, eg. CM N200 is very reliable IMO smile.gif

*edited: sorry, forgot about cheaper brand sweat.gif better takes below's specs biggrin.gif

Nice suggestion, but I'd tone down on the CPU cooler bro, the 165mm heatsink might not fit in his Lancool pck58 tongue.gif

it should fit, but it might bust your budget... I'd recommend going for the CM Hyper 212X... cheaper and still gets the job done

guys can i ask a question even though this is quite technical. my spec is as follow

i5-4570
GByte HD 7970 OC
kingstom value 8gb ram
lg dvd-r
seasonic psu 620w
asrock 85mpro

i am getting alot of artifacts whenever i use GPU related apps , eg.Madvr renderer.

when i boot a game, it freezes after a few minutes, and give me the notice ' Display driver stopped responding and has recovered'. then crazy random artifacts start appearing all over the screen or the entire monitor goes black or other random glitches etc.

the GC was RMA-ed jus last month.

i tried removing and reinstalling the latest drivers etc but to no avail.

someone suggested the PSU might be the problem and that 620w might not be enough for 7970 OC.

Should i upgrade the PSU or should I trouble shoot further.

All the parts are brand new and i am running out of ideas here sad.gif

your help are must appreciated guys . tq

I doubt the PSU is the culprit here. 620W is definitely enough for a HD 7970. I am guessing that your GC is the one busted.

Try to update the driver to latest recommended version or reinstalling it to see if can solve the problem or not.
If those cant help, probably the GPU itself is the culprit as stated by raven.

Sifus,

Do you think this is the optimal / best bang for buck I can get for RM4,200?
Main usage will be gaming (want to max graphics if possible) + the other usual suspects... surfing, watching movies, music.

i5-4570 (3Y)
GA.B85M-D3H (3Y)
8GB G.Skill Value Ram (Limited-Lifetime)
120GB Crucial M500 SSD (3Y)
1TB Hitachi 7200RPM HDD (3Y)
Zotac GTX770 AMP! Edition 2GB (2+3Y extended)
LG DVD RW 24x
Silverstone TJ08-E
Dell U2312HM (5Y
Free Wifi Adapter
Free Mousepad
Rosewill RK9000 MX Blue (3 Years warranty)
RM4200

May be able to max budget @ RM4500.

Looks fine... But if you are willing to deal with heat/noise issues, there's the Sapphire R9 290 at RM1499 from Idealtech, and it comes with BF4 for free.

Roughly around RM2.5K - RM3K.But it's not a well-balanced build.You can get a better spec if you tone down the CPU to i5 4440 or 4570.. :

Intel Core i5 4570 3.2GHz RM599
Asrock B85M Pro4 mainboard RM289
Kingston KVR1600MHz 2x4GB RM258
Gainward GTX760 2GB DDR5 RM855
Antec Strictly 550W PSU RM219
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD RM189
Crucial M500 128GB SSD RM359
Cooler Master N200 case RM149
Liteon 24x DVDRW RM64

Total - RM2981.00 Viewnet & Feiton@Garage Sales.

Quick question. R9 280X or GTX 770?
Or if you can suggest other cheap options, I'm looking for a GPU that can take most games at playable fps at 1080p. Currently using Radeon5770, pretty ancient stuff
