and one fine day, i got call from HR, said i am invited for chit-chat. so i went for chit-chat, SI, and online exam. and got offer letter. suprisingly all within one month!

no, i didn't know anyone inside, nobody is recommending me. its just the HR is doing their best in scouting talent.

Is it true that some people have salary increments such that by time they are given job grade upgrade, the next tier salary is still lower than their existing salary? Therefore presumably it will be just a titular upgrade.

depends on company i think. mine was 3 months. my friend was less than a month.

You wait for 3 months to know your placement upon hiring manager approval or you get to know that you pass the cbi earlier than that?

Yup. 3 months for the hiring manager approval. For cbi result, i just being told on the phone while following up with them, around 1 month after cbi. I have read in this thread, even we are recommended, there are still chances not being hired. Thus, to assume we got the job even if we know we are recommended is quite risky. Maybe thats why they use the term recommended right?

Yes. They do entertain salary appeal. I also benefits from this. Got around rm300 increment. My friend got rm500++.

During my cbi, the interviewer told me that they will try to match the position salary band with your current salary and should be higher than your current salary.
