hey guys, how do you power several stompboxes at once? i remember someone asking about this once but i can't seem to find the thread. I don't wanna use batteries as it is troublesome and i don't think using several PSU is easy too. So is there anyway to just use one PSU to power up several stomp box?

Unless you go out and get one of those prepaid cards, lah. Then feel free to come in. But the doors will lock behind you until that card is emptied smile.gif

yesterday went to CK, JS, Bentley, Chambers and the Yamaha shop at kl plaza..
went to JS first, n Jaya Satriani was demoing the line6 head, really cool amp head, with all the effects etc. theyve got almost all the new ZOOM models, the G7.1(dun really remember which model exactly, but i think its this one) was going for 1300~

Then went to JS, tested the Vox Wah there.. i didnt like the distortion on the pedal.. the 3 wah sttings; Mo, Lo, n CBY way models were almost the same. the other two were a bit different. i tried a few settings with the Q n diff models then went off to Bentley. the price was listed as rm600 n after discount rm500, Last model etc etc..

At Bentley, my fren tested 2 ibanez guitars, i think one of them was the SZ n the other one looks abit like a les paul. the SZ neck was quite nice, easy access to higher frets bcos of the set neck n the string was thru the body. nice long sustain.
Then i tested out the 535Q Chrome since they didnt have the normal 535Q's in stock.. All i can say bout the pedal is, i like it smile.gif . the pedal's sweep was bigger than the Vox V-wah. The Boost button was a plus, but the switch is on the side, so i think it would be a bit hard to switch it on off when your playing but it supposed to be set b4 u play it i suppose.. the range settings were a LOT. n i could get the very high n low frequencies, for funk n distortion. the wah on the higher notes could be heard, unlike the wah in my GFX8.  tested it for a while then shot off to Yamaha. the price for the normal 535Q was around rm500 quoted by the salesman.

At Yamaha , tested the Epiphone LP, rm2300 through a Yamaha stack. really nice n chunky sound biggrin.gif after discount was rm2000.

At Chambers, tested the Yamaha AES through a Cube 60. to me, i felt that the AES sound was a bit thin. the fretboard finishing was a bit bad i think.. but maybe i was spoiled by the LP i tested at Yamaha  laugh.gif .
After Chambers went home but the stupid Summit traffic light jam kept me waiting another 45 minutes to reach home.

btw, i went to 7 Eleven on the way back, and noticed they were selling these Prepaid Mastercards from Am Bank smile.gif . u get a mastercard, an du top up the value like a phone prepaid. max rm10,000. and the good thing is, u dont need to have a fixed salary n the approval is guarenteed biggrin.gif.. *off to look at online guitar offers*
*
did u test the epi LP custom???
realise there was a broken string????

yea that yamaha stack was cool btw, the knobs turn by themselves!!!!
Lol. it wasnt me rolleyes.gif

din test the custom. the one i tested was the red LP. forgot which model exactly. i think they changed all the strings cos the LP i tested had brand new strings smile.gif

The Yamaha stack was cool man.. my fren was the first one to test the guitar since he was shopping for one, he was playing on the Lead channel at first. then he wanted to switch to clean.. so, he pressed the Clean button on the head.. then suddenly, the master volume knob start turning by itself like it was possessed. laugh.gif the volume was so loud, the stack sounded like the big signal horns in LOTR. i was in the keyboard room at that time. when i went out of the room, my fren was having a moderate panic attack. he was turning the dials to 0 damn quick laugh.gif another fren of mine acted quickly by turning off the head. hahaha. damn funny. after that only we knew that the head had presets and all.. such noobs shakehead.gif .
shortly after that, the chinese guy came n explained to us. we were all like.. OOoooooOoOoo.. had a good laugh laugh.gif
i guess they can put like a candid camera for that amp. n see what ppl(who dont know the amp) do biggrin.gif

ahahahaha
the lp there were pretty cool
MIC tho, and the tops weren't 1/4" maple caps i think =/
either a lousy veneer or photoflames tongue.gif but im too noob the differentiate

the amp tho sounded really.... well.... solidstate =/
i panicked awhile when i switched the channels
but i managed to save my face by turning the guitar volume knob down, but the buzzing noise was still apparent
Lol.
then i snapped the LP customs strings =/ malu betul...
then went into the acoustic guitar room
they had a yamaha compass, a really beautiful cream coloured maple acoustic
and tested a laney acoustic amp with a really really really nice acoustic guitar
forgotten the model tho

there arent any epi LP with maple caps.
basically all flame tops you see are veneers.
and the regular sunbursts are alder caps.

but now notice how PRS are doing veneers and making it sound classy? tongue.gif

Hmm, so what's the benefit of using these pre-paid credit cards? You still got to have money first before you can actually use one. On the other hand, with a standard credit card, you don't even need to have money first, and after you bought something, you can take your time to pay it back, as long as you pay the minimal amount every month (with interest of course, still better than paying one short)

For online transactions, I never had any problems with paypal or credit cards (ordered some PS2 games from Play-Asia before)

would be usefull for kids like me who dont fulfill the requirements for a credit card application. however, will need to check their charges on transactions. since they dont get the interest from installments.

Yeah, but at least the sound of each instruments were pretty clear heh. I have heard PAs which are much much worse in comparison. Though, for the money the club paid and the stuff they have, it should've sounded much better. Shows how screwed up the soundmen are. sad.gif

Not sure, cause everytime I see your post, it kind reminds me of the villian in Spongebob lol.

I love Marothons too LOL! Because KL's so far from my place and whenever I go down I would take LRT + Monorail. Don't want to waste the opportunity to check out everything I could. tongue.gif Yeah and I use the "I'ill come back next time" technique too. tongue.gif Tried and tested... I think the guys at Bentley also sick of it already. rolleyes.gif

well firstly obviously you dont need to be earning like 36k per annum to get one, well for the good cards at least.
i dont believe in owing anyway, and thats what a credit card does.
if i want something, i pay for it fully.

anyway, just reading up on the card's terms.
theres a RM3 monthly fee so RM36/yr, which is decent enough compared to annual fees of RM90 or so for certain other cards.
for international transactions, there is a foreign exchange/conversion fee of 1% from the value plus a RM1 charge added on per transaction, which again is decent enough.
roughly RM5 for every USD100.

pretty similar to a debit card, cept that the malaysian debit cards arent really recognized worldwide.
this one also allows you to withdraw your cash thru any ambank atms with zero charge, and you dont even need an ambank acc.

Since you got to have the money first to even use it, honestly, it makes the whole thing a little redundent.

Only benefit I can see here is

i) you don't have to carry a sh*t load of cash along if you want to get some expensive stuff
ii) it is a great alternative for other online transaction methods (western union, money order...etc)

I do agree about the not owing part though, being able to pay by installments(even better if interest free), even if you have the cash at hand, is a choice I will take everytime, cause we never know when we might need that money suddenly.

The way I look at credit card is, it is a great tool during emergencies.

What may be redundant to you may not be the same for others. biggrin.gif Don't forget that most of us here are students who are still living with our parents (Not sure about everdying, I don't think he was the one who brought up the issue.). Even if I have a credit card atm, it will be constantly monitored by my parents, I don't really want them to know how much I spend on my music stuff. wink.gif

I was just thinking how excellent this would be for students. Parents give the kid one, but the limit's capped to how much they put in. Therefore no overcharging on the card. It's pretty much just giving the kid cash, but in the convenience of a card.
