Woooooooo. Don't know if it's my imagination, but after Restringing my guitar Zakk-style (ie: The strings wrap above the tail bar), I'm getting much better sustain from my LP!!!

I dunno if it works for all guitars, but for all you Les Paul users who is about to re-string their guitar, try wrapping it around the tailbar....

it helps with the sustain??? cool!!! cuz i dun think my lp gives enough sustain me thinks
will try that once my strings give way laugh.gif

Like I said, re-stringing Zakk-Style might not work for everyone..... But for me, pulling of Harmonics sounds sweeter. I think it really IS my imagination!!!!

well, one thing i dont like about restringing it that way is tuning inaccuracy.
if the string slips abit on the tailpiece, there goes the tuning.

some manufacturer has a special tailpiece with slots in it so the string wont slip tho.
saw it in one of my guitar player mags, have to go dig thru for the manufacturer.

anyway, zakk if not mistaken copied billy gibbons tongue.gif
stringing it that way reduces string tension a little also.

Yeah. I remember reading about that tailpiece too! UK magazine I think. Oh well... I MIGHT change it...... but see how first. tongue.gif
But yeah..... the tunings will be shot to hell if it moves a little bit.....

My finals is in 2 weeks time too lol. laugh.gif
If he comes back next year, go watch it! You won't regret it, I guarantee. Not only he is an amazing fingerpicker, he's a spontaneous entertainer & joker too. The show lasted for about 2hours and 45 minutes but I never felt bored at all.

Unlike the Incubus gig few years back, 1/2 hour into the show and I felt like leaving already. tongue.gif

Dio To Reunite with Iommi, Butler & Ward
The rumors have been floating around for quite some time, and KNAC.com is happy to finally be able to confirm that they are true:
The highly anticipated reunion of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward appears to be shaping up and taking a new form. After various promoters have approached their respective management; the guys have started taking all of this very seriously, as they have wanted to reunite for some time now. It looks as if the new shape may be that of "Heaven and Hell.".

If all goes well, Heaven and Hell should be hitting the road in early 2007.

For those of you who are staying in Australia & New Zealand :
http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/old/news/0610211.html

Roger Waters will be playing a few dates in Aussie and one in Auckland. Check him out if you love Pink Floyd and don't forget about his new sideman, the amazing Dave Kilminster. thumbup.gif

cry.gif Waters is so talented..too bad he got off Pink Floyd although the reunion was awsome... maybe if he was still on he would've been with Gilmour in his live concerts

As much as I love Floyd and Waters, Roger has a pretty big ego. If he stayed in Floyd in the 80s, David would probably be the one leaving Floyd.

Anyway the reunion was bloody AMAZING! Much better than the PULSE DVD IMO, they NEED to reunite for a reunion tour while they still have the energy!

yeah true..PULSE was only a bunch of lazers and smokes with a killing comfortably numb solo...but the reuinion captured truly the Pink Floyd spirit...what was a really bunch of crap was The Wall concert by Waters...it was a complete mess..the idea was nice but not the music..

PULSE was good, no doubt about that as the band was very tight, but I prefer the stripped-down version of Pink Floyd. Just the 4 of them plus a session guitarist and a backup singer or 3... just nice and perfect!

I like the Wall actually, it was a huge event so it's inevitable that the music would be compromised.

For me :
Live 8 Reunion > David Gilmour In Concert > PULSE > Roger Waters - In The Flesh > The Wall Live in Berlin

Not so much a fan of the early Floyd, although Syd Barrett's very talented. notworthy.gif
