Hi all..

Does Note 3 has Samsung Maps just like the Nokia Maps that could be used offline?

I saw the latest Google Maps is installed but there's no way to make it work offline.

I dont' have data plan, only WiFi sad.gif

Thank you.

Waze can use offline??

Thanks for your suggestion.

Any drawbacks of waze? Huhu..

By the way, I really love the google maps. It could even detect my current location whilst at was at car basement..huhu..

The only thing is I cannot use it offline? Is there any solutions for offline google maps? Can I downgrade to the 6 version which can be used offline?

Nope. Almost all the free navigations are online maps. Google map is quite good as you have the voice navigation and constant updates.
If you have extra cash you can try papgo, they are using malsing maps which can be constantly updated for free and have many poi. Alternatively sygic is good with their ui smoothness

I think Waze can download the maps first (please correct me if am wrong).

Another good thing about Waze is the live traffic reports you'll get from other Waze users. Very good for avoiding traffic jams.

You should consider getting a data plan for your smartphone. Smartphone without data is not smart d laugh.gif

Rarely use Google Maps. I will only use Waze and Papago only when there is no data connection for Waze.

Yes, both Google Maps and Waze can download the maps and use offline INM, but I have never try the performance of it yet. But the beauty of Maps and Waze is search the POI on the go and get life traffic updates.

Papago and Sygic can use coordinate search and usually if I need to travel to those ulu ulu place or some specific POI, I will use Papago due to their good database. If just for city travel, I will use Sygic as the interface is nicer and smoother.

Lol bro, I think you're too underestimate the power of snapdragon 800. Hahaha what's the point of having SUCH powerful smartphone and not hope to flex it's muscle by installing few apps. Don't worry bro, it wont slow down the phone la hahahha.

Snapdragon or not, installing 100 apps that require startups at boot is going to tax you machine for sure, not to mention it will suck battery like no tomorrow.

Installing apps do not slow down anything, true. But installing apps that silently run around in the background doing only god knows what all day long (Facebook, I'm talking about you) will. Especially if you have zero tech knowledge, are not rooted and have no idea what "Autostarts" or "Greenify" (or any similar app) does.

Which is probably where this entire "Samsung is laggy" crap started anyway.

That said, it's true however that "a few apps" will be total waste of the mighty 800 and the 3GB of RAM, but for sure he (she?) is going to enjoy a helluva longer SOT because of that.

Power users different ler of course.

My request is simple. Phone is powerful enough but one thing still far behind - the battery.

Any manufacturer that release another revolution in battery will be the king.  Let make a fast charging - 1 hour or less and last longer battery - SOT 24 hours + standby 4 days.

Battery is the most important things that need to change, no others else.

LOL bro I think you miss out this great news

http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/30/softban...-day-of-use-in/

5 inch 1080p screen with snapdragon 800 processor. What's great is 10 minutes fast charge can last for 1 day usage and full charge can last for 3 days. Hahaha
