Hmm..well to part opinion on parts to make a signal transmitting solid medium, aka cable.

Canare F10

The very famous F10, initial impression of build quality is great when u first see it, but after sum time you would lear and yearn to hate the F10. They do not last long, if theres a standard for the number of times u can plug the F10, it would be one of the lowest..After sum time the F10 jus don really grip the earth RCA sleeve of the jack. They tend to become loose, often giving to spikes of noises. For the price, what is there to complain? Easy to solder on since the gold palted point is not covered in much flux before hand.

Neutrik ProFi

A very expensive connector, good build quality but u just cannot stop to think is it worth the money..even the Neutrik ProFI label is only in white paint that is EASILY chipped off..seems like China made stuff. Powder coat black on the body also can be scratched out with force. however, the tech behind the spring loaded RCA sleeve is interesting, but only beneficial to ppl who hot-plug equipment since the ground completes the connection first. The good thing bout this thing is they are nasty lil bugger who just seems to be a virgin everytime u plug it in due to the ground sleeve maintained by the barrel body. And another nice thing, when u plug them in, they are hard to do, but when u pull them out, the spring just pushed itself ouf of the jack, kinda nifty. A bit harder to solder since the ground plating is short and very near to the signal point. However the retention mechanism is a very big plus! Grips the cable no matter how small they are.

Switchcraft 1/4 Phono

OMIGOSH OMIGOSH, I think even running these THING under a steam roller wont make it bent. Build to haf the look of EXTREME rigidity, but awfully one of the ugliest connector for the price. Premium over other normal phono connectors such as neutrik and canare. Solder points are lil bit heavy in flux and requires quite an amount of heat to properly liquidate. Prefered over Neutrik and Canare.

Canare 1/4 Phono

It looks like all other Canare..that same boring look. Build quality is notup to par with the switchcraft, however it is still better looking. HOWEVER, is it me or just me, the isnulator between signal and ground is made of sumthing that seems to give out parasitic capacitance when measure with my Fluke DMM..retested with a Fluke capacitance meter and it does haf that specific capacitance. Maybe its just me with my tools. Soldering are normal on them.

Neutrik 1/4

Well, these are the best looking connectors out of what i have seen with my own eyes, built in cable retention and sum weird solder points. hardest to solder for stereo plugs since the L and R points it stacked onto each other, as opposed to other conenctors that are placed at the opposite of each other. However the neutriks are the most beautiful and has the weirdest construction out of all.

IMHO, i prefer the ProFi and the Switchcraft connectors. Oh, no Canare cables for me..i have heard and owned better thumbup.gif

ive always thought that the Canare cables were NEVER meant to be high-grade cables. IMHO theyre just best bang for buck cables. meaning cheap and good. best upgrade to normal cables without spending hundreds and hundreds of RM.

and theyre also for normal people like us who has thin wallets..

ijan's wallet very thick so different story la... icon_idea.gif

yeahs4.1, cannot fit, the barrel size is almost the same size as the canare starquad cable.
and the inside, have a while plastic things, you have to throw it away before u can put canare inside. and the cable was not clamp if you don't use that plastic. soldering point will be the one who take all the pressure when the cable was accidentally pulled.

yeah4,1 where do u order switchcraft? can help us (me + madman) to order if we are interested? =P
haha
