Else, perhaps you can try out Sony Soundbar if you prefer more bassy notes for your soundbar...your purpose is for general speech/sound enhancement or you want your room to shake when watching some action movie?

Will the Yamaha YAS-209 too close for PC gaming?

Bought the Samsung HW-Q80R recently at Best Denki in 1U. So far so good, the only problem is its quite heavy, 8.8KG.

At the moment, I have space constraint for the sound bar. From the picture, my sound bar is over from the table top portion and currently been supported by the wall mounted bracket (own-self modified).

Is there any shops that sell those C brackets for me to hook onto wood?

No worries bro. I only know about this because I was worried my soundbar would not fit my TV stand. I eventually bought a smaller soundbar so I didn't have to buy this though.

My sister bought one from Lazada and is using it on her 65" TV with no issues.

On paper wise (tech details) and design (look), YAS 109 is much better if you are looking at it since YAS 107 consider old model. Just my 2 cents.

Usually JBL will pack abit more punch in Bass (low end) frequency, but you could determined it once you have tested it. Would be better if you could download one (1) flac. music and one (1) hi def movie to test the soundbar.

Walao..... price YAS108 dropped so much. In mid of May 2019, I bought below RM833 (after RM25 discount) from Lazada which the cheapest that time. That was before YAS109 launched.

The sound from YAS108 is loud and clear without the sub woofers? Planning to get a soundbar with a sub woofer below 1k budget. Salesperson says no point getting soundbars without woofers as won't make big difference. Is this true?

The reason I choose this soundbar which got built in sub woofer is that you can add on sub woofer subsequently if you feel that really need sub woofer. How often you watch movie in your TV? If really need, just buy another sub woofer such as Polk Audio /Yamaha brand etc which can wire connect to YAS108. End up it is better than Yamaha yas-209 in total since YAS108 soundbar drivers is better than YAS209 and YAS209 sub woofer just basic version only.

A'ah I see.. good to know we can add on sub woofer to the YAS108 via wired connections should the need arise. Watch movies usually during weekends / PH only.

(there is series from 107~109, 107 with 1 hdmi, 108 got 2 hdmi, 109?? no idea as i didnt do detail research on it, almost 99% of the review will say 109 > 108 > 107, theoretically yes, but it would best if u go try test urself, i doubted it becoz 3 looks identical, same same je, my guess is like 107 only 1 hdmi, so 108 add on alexa & 2 hdmi, mayb 109 add on extra feature again)


for me i pick yas 108
1. no available 107 stock at that time.
2. dont require subwoofer as my kid is still small, and my house soundproof not that good, if volume too loud kena complain 1.
3. up gradable to connect extra subwoofer in the future, currently budget contraint
4. turn on volume 15 i can feel my window shaking already, yea without the woofer it kinda lack of the punch, but i m very satisfy with it.
5. yamaha home theater app offer a few preset setting, i feels like movie mode is the best for both movie & music

currently in hypermood, tonight go back do another of pes2020 1st

107 to 109 it just yearly launch series. 107 is oldest in which 109 launched this year. All 1 in / 1 out HDMI nothing more. Basically they are "almost" the same.

Me also using the Samsung NU8000 TV..
I miss my good old Sharp UE630X which had Dolby Digital Plus, DTS & TruSurround. Never had to increase volume above 30 but with the NU8000 usually have to increase until 40-60 but video quality definitely a win for the NU8000.

yas 108 comes with 1 hdmi arc (speaker) + 1 hdmi input (i connect it on tvbox).
i only tested sound output for yas 108 only, yet to test on yas 108 + tv but i reckon yas 108 is more than enough for sound output.
