Not sure where to ask so forgive me if it's a bit out of topic.

Pretty much set my mind (and heart) on an LG C8 and SL9Y combo to replace my old Sony set-up.

However, I'm a bit concerned in relation to the space it'll take on my TV console which only has a depth of 38 mm. The combo will just barely fit at 37.6 mm combined.

Of greater concern would be the height of the soundbar at 5.7 mm which is higher than the TV stand. Wall mounting the TV is not an option for me so am wondering what can be done.

I've read of the LG TK10 bracket but it seems that it's only for the SL10Y. Anyone encounter the same issue and how did you overcome it?

Thanks

Sounds difficult. Im not too sure other than suggesting a diff soundbar. For example saw review on samsung q90r where its height of 3.25 inches fits under most tvs... but maybe u need to consider the depth too... however if i shud say if going atmos, the rear speakers are a huge difference. My preference honestly would be n950 or q90r

Yeah, it's quite annoying that manufacturers seem to be assume that consumers will automatically mount their TV's on walls and as such, don't provided appropriate options for the stand. Hopefully, I'll be able to view a C8 TV in real life this weekend to measure first hand the ground clearance.

If it can't fit, I'll probably abandon my plans and just live with what I have until a better option comes in the future.

Unfortunately, I stay in a small unit and as a result, rear speakers aren't an option either.

Just here to let everyone know that Desa Home is having a promo. Get LG soundbar and you get the rear speakers for free. Pretty good value especially when you couple with the 9.9 discounts:

If given a choice, which would be better? LG SL9Y or SK9Y?

Are you brought JBL bar 2.1? rolleyes.gif

I doing market survey for soundbar. My budget range from RM1k to RM2.5K.

I just purchased an LG SL8Y. If you buy from Desa Home, you can get rear speakers included in the price as well.

So far I'm happy with my purchase.

OMG bro, you are my savior. I never know such bracket exists as usually I saw those are wall mounted type.

No worries bro. I only know about this because I was worried my soundbar would not fit my TV stand. I eventually bought a smaller soundbar so I didn't have to buy this though.

My sister bought one from Lazada and is using it on her 65" TV with no issues.

Anyone here got any feedback on the Sonos Arc? Reviews have been good but Sonos does tend to get a free ride from reviewers just by the virtue of their brand.

rtings rated lower than the Samsung Q90R n LG SL10YG/SN11RG

the Arc is having demo at harvey norman MV

I tested the full set sonos, SL9YG, Samsung Q950T, personally i like the Q950T, if u r seating in the sweet spot, very nice

i ended up buying the SL9YG due to budget, plus the having promo, giving out the rear speakers for free

How are you liking the SL9YG so far? I personally have the SL8Y at the moment. Will likely be moving into a new bigger place so am thinking of upgrading to a more powerful soundbar.

Went back a few pages but still can't find any discussion or love in relation to the Sonos Arc soundbar.

I'm moving to a bigger place early next year and am using that as an excuse to upgrade my soundbar. Distinct lack of reviews from Malaysians as well.

Anyone have any experience or know anywhere I can read some discussions on the Sonos? Thanks

I suppose for tech, sometimes we get what we pay for. So for a decent soundbar, whats the minimum to fork out?
*
For around RM2k you can get the LG SN8Y. I used to own the SL8Y and had no complaints. It's a decent soundbar with all the necessary tech like dolby atmos, etc. The only reason I sold off the soundbar was to upgrade to the SN9Y.

The person who bought my SL8Y is happy with his purchase and so far it has performed well despite being around close to 4 years in age.

Do you plan to get the rear speakers?

Not really. More due to aesthetic reasons as I hate having wires run around my living room.
