anyone tried converting their s4 to GPE edition? i dont want the custom ROM, but the stock-version-GPE-S4 with OTA. since both devices are the same, we can just install the GPE vanila android on our s4 right

since u need a fast and stable rom why not try GE 4.3? not the latest or greatest but the download size is very small around 400MB, even 300MB if you look around closely (v1.5 CoOoL_BoY). just remember you wont get any samsung features such as air gesture etc...

not sure if you can get OTA with GE rom although its possible..


goldeneye is based on TW minus the bloat. personally I like it coz the relatively small DL size compared to other TW-based roms. also its quite stable, haven't had a single random reboot nor FC since flashing v14 two weeks ago. have not tried version 15 yet tho..

I was about to flash PhoeniX ROM v6.2, but since it's 'heavy' (which is true, 2GB!), then i'll go for goldeneye.

But you would not want to update it cos your are running custome recovery.. It just won't install

Update it the new update is awesome. Couldnt find any bugs whatsoever and the apps i use (next browser, pulse) become super smooth again. This should've been the original update from the start haha
