is there any way i can arrange the pic in an album?
i reset the phone and now the gallery album is a mess
*
Normally i use an app called QuickPic, where there is an option to 'fix date' for the photos in an album. Might not work perfectly all the time, but at least it gets the job done tongue.gif

yeah, it because i9500 uses different camera sensor than i9505
*
Yeah this is true. It's already been proven on xda (if I'm not mistaken) that the camera sensor in i9500 is Sony's Exmor RS, whereas the i9505 is Exmor R

i update via kies lo.. dunno what problem.. dont have any sound or alert.. Y_Y

I think if you can bare with it awhile longer, since in india there was a new update yesterday which supposedly fixes all the issues with the 4.3 update for i9500

What surprised me abit was how samsung managed to screw this initial update up in the first place shocking.gif . On xda people are stating that it broke the hardware acceleration drivers (web browsing, using Pulse app for news isnt as enjoyable as in 4.2.2. Try using a third party browser and scroll --> somewhat feels like my SGS1 ohmy.gif ) and other issues like yours.

Anyways we just have to wait a few more days hopefully for the update to roll out in msia sweat.gif

Haha yeah blame samsung cry.gif basically any app that takes advantage of hardware acceleration will be stuttery now... I even had to delete Timely Alarm Clock because it just wouldnt work and kept force closing. I liked it alot lol vmad.gif samsung hurry up and release the update for msia!

The link show S4 can do 405mins on internet.  doh.gif
I've yet to see any 5hrs SOT on S4..let alone 6hrs+ SOT rclxub.gif
*
My average SOT everyday is 4 hours from 100 to 20% battery biggrin.gif so i guess 5 hours is my average. But yeah 6hrs+ SOT would be wow lol

why did you guys always mentioned that this will gonna be my last samsung device..i just thinking of buying s4.. im not really favour in rooting..any advise for newbie like me?
*
If you're not into rooting then yeah there shouldn't be a problem getting it biggrin.gif. Then can become someone with a popular phone haha. Make amois turn heads as a bonus (either iPhone or S4) tongue.gif

I see, then I shall backup 1st and try download the 4.3 update. I will try using those backup app which doesn't need my phone to be rooted. Thanks for the feedback. biggrin.gif
*
It depends whether you have the i9505 model or i9500 one. The 4.3 for i9505 is great tongue.gif no problems updating. But the 4.3 update for i9500 Samsung screwed up hardware acceleration drivers, and along with several other bugs reported by users here and at xda. Usually it's solvable by a factory reset, but not everyone has the time to do it or backup using helium sad.gif

I was thinking of getting a S4 but due to the never ending complaints of problems here I've changed my mind. It appears to be worse after Android 4.3 upgrade. I've no time to run up and down to service centre for intermittent problems which are almost impossible to solve. A bad effort by Samsung.
*
Eh there won't be any problem with 4.3 if u buy the i9505 version. Only the i9500 version has problems sad.gif. And if u think Samsung did a bad job with S4, LOL then look at HTC One thread n xda about the more serious problems that cannot be solved by a factory reset.
Hardware issues like purple camera, gaps between the speakers and the body + various scratches. These are much worse problems in my opinion, and what's worse is sending the phone to the service center won't solve these problems. Sure I'll admit Samsung screwed up 4.3 for i9500, but in my opinion HTC screwed One customers even worse.

Are you kidding me or something ? My i9500 runs perfectly with JB4.3
*
That's because you factory resetted your phone after updating. Some people (like me) just don't have the time to backup everything using helium or root and do titanium backup, so factory resetting my phone isn't a viable option for me.
I know to you, flashing and backup/restore is very convenient (judging from your previous posts tongue.gif). But not everyone has the luxury to do those. I hope you understand lol I know factory resetting will make hardware acceleration work again. I'll do helium once my exams are over.

Then again if from an average Joe's point of view, almost every android newbuyer will expect zero problems updating from 4.2.2 to 4.3, and I think we can agree that 80-90% of i9500 owners are not into rooting or factory resetting, right? They expect the phone to 'just work', something the flagship Galaxy S Generation has achieved next to the iPhone.

Just want to clarify that yes I know it can be solved

I cant blame them, but its compulsory to them. And you know not only i9500 facing this issue right ?
*
Lol I don't think anything should be compulsory of Samsung did 4.3 update right. And yes I know. Like I said I'll do helium once my exams are over. The fact is general people like ginny88 get turned off buying S4 just cause of all these problems which weren't supposed to be there in the first place sad.gif

And you know that this factory reset 'rule' does not apply to  Samsung devices right ? Almost every Android device have to factory reset after ;
1. First boot-up (right after you bought your device.
2. After major updates ; ICS > JB
3. If your phone suddenly got haywire, keeps awake

Even my iPod touch have to be factory reset once its updated to a newer iOS version.
*
Is this true? Means everyone has to have their data all wiped everytime they do an update? I don't think you understand lol it doesn't have to be this way usually. I've been using android since 4 years ago and I never knew it was 'compulsory' to factory reset every time.

I said major updates. If you think you dont have any problems then dont do factory reset.
*
Lol I do have a major problem. Like I said I'll be doing helium soon. I didn't root my S4 yet so I can't use titanium.

I didnt really meant it is a must, unless you are facing certain scenarios.
Im deeply sorry if you guys misunderstood my statements.
*
Eh no need to apologize lol. It was a good debate in my opinion smile.gif . Like i said i've been using android for 4 years and have never done what u listed. You seem to know your stuff about the platform in general, and i can see great interest in you biggrin.gif like you're into rooting/flashing/modding and stuff. I was sorta like you last time, but later just wanted a device that works haha.

Incidentally, i thought helium app data backup works without root? It says in the description and several online sites i went to just to double check sweat.gif

laugh.gif rclxms.gif i dont find it much of a problem though. I have somewhat come to like touchwiz (lol shocker eh?) and plus the lag fixes from 4.3 it's really not that bad until need to find custom roms to flash.

so how's your backup test now harh brows.gif

Eh surprisingly well biggrin.gif! Helium backed up my apps along with their data. So yeah now I know that helium can backup apps+data n restore them without root LOL. But some apps like pulse and waze were broken la I had to redownload them again. But other than that I got back all my game saves, messages (whatsapp, fb, stock app). So yeah helium is definitely useful for nonrooted phones haha

Your previous phone also not rooted when you backup via Helium.?
*
No no I backed up on my S4 to my ext SD card. Then i factory resetted my phone and when it was done, I downloaded helium from play store again. Then I restored the data from my ext SD card lo. It's all in one phone bro.

Ehh..it mean your app data already can be backup since you manage transfer it to your external sdcard. How bout games that it data stored in the phone internal storage..? Did you manage to transfer it to your sdcard also..?
*
No leh I did not transfer to my ext sd lol. I mean I backed up app+data to a folder 'carbon' located at my extsd using Helium. Then when I wanted to restore my apps I just selected them in helium and they were restored lo along with their data smile.gif. Games I don't think whether like Gameloft the 1gb data you have to download will be restored, but the save game will be there. When I restored angry birds and where's my water it also restored my progress haha.

IINM, Helium can backup apps+data on rooted device only, but restore can be done on any unrooted device.. so do your device rooted during backup?
*
Nope my device wasn't rooted before or after. The difference is that if your device is rooted, all you have to do is install the app and done smile.gif you're ready to backup.

However if you aren't rooted, then you have to install the app then download the windows helium program. This program (IMO) allows the app temporary root capabilities (ONLY helium app, and if you restart your phone that capability is lost). Its something like a tethered jailbreak for iOS, thats the best way to describe it haha biggrin.gif.
