any problem with Knox or selinux?

personally I think the S4 offers the best price/performance ratio among flagship phones currently available. also there is excellent support from the xda community which I think is much better compared to other phones.

flashed version 2.0 yesterday coz hand felt itchy to try kitkat. even without ART, the UI was very smooth tho there was some complaints on how kitkat reduces video playback performance. also could not write to extSd which is a deal breaker for me. now on Golden Eye ver 14

yup just noticed the latest version this morning, seems the extSd issue was fixed. maybe I'll give it another spin when I have spare time..

regarding your old BL, I dont think you can use it on kitkat. looks like samsung changed something to force people to use the new BL. I had this problem when yesterday after flashing version 2.0 and the phone couldn't connect and signal was nil. after flashing newer modem things worked perfectly...

maybe u need to decide now whether to keep the old BL or get a newer version with KNOX..

why dont you try something less heavy first, maybe those roms that have slim versions available. there are quite a few such as echoe slim or goldeneye or even GE 4.3. better to avoid buggy roms based on kitkat 4.4 if you need your phone stable all the time.

i've used GE 4.3 since october, very stable and smooth but the camera is lacking quite a few features compared to samsung stock camera. now I'm testing goldeneye v14 without any samsung bloatware, not bad..

since u need a fast and stable rom why not try GE 4.3? not the latest or greatest but the download size is very small around 400MB, even 300MB if you look around closely (v1.5 CoOoL_BoY). just remember you wont get any samsung features such as air gesture etc...

goldeneye is based on TW minus the bloat. personally I like it coz the relatively small DL size compared to other TW-based roms. also its quite stable, haven't had a single random reboot nor FC since flashing v14 two weeks ago. have not tried version 15 yet tho..

stock rom does not contain the efs partition which holds the IMEI info. only thing to do now is to restore nandroid backup of the original ROM that comes with the phone if available. not sure what else you can do now aside from going to SC.

care to share what custom rom you used that caused this problem? happened to me once with ECHOE rom v8.

most of the available 4.4.2 roms are stable (almost no random reboots) but contain some very minor bugs. a bug I encountered was unable to access extSd using apps such as App2sd that produces error saying no external storage detected. but u can still access the extSd from root explorer etc...

give it a try, it could suit u better than me..

why not try other keyboards such as this one?...

bro, u using what rom and modem? if u are on custom rom, could be u need to install the LTE fix. try searching the link below..

totally not normal. try to identify the source of the problem thru elimination:

1. background apps running - turn off the phone before charging

2. battery/cable problem - try charging using another battery/cable

3. charger problem - charge from pc/laptop
