Kobold Geomancer (2 mana 2/2 +1sp)
Novice Engineer (2 mana 1/2 draw a card)

interm of card advantage, Novice Engineer > Bloodmage Thalnos
why? Novice Eng is BattleCry Minion and Bloodmage Talnos is Deathrattle Minion

Pro:
NE - Get to draw card first + Durable than BT
BT - Draw a card when destroyed + 1 spell dmg

Con:
NE - useless 1 dmg card +
BT - Earth Shock / Ironbeak owl = you get a minion with the most lowest dmg and health in universe. LOL and you get nothing!
+ easily 1 hit destroy by Wild Boar Charged

Gotten 3 common gold card for priest... and i dont even play a priest (only level the hero to level 10)

Sheesh...why cant i get a nice gold card for mage or rouge... its like they set it so u get nice gold card for your least played hero so that u will play them more

bloodmage most certainly give you better card (and other) advantage over novice engineer.

the only situation you would want to summon bloodmage is to boost your spell damage and kill some minions, which should guarantee some kills (at least this is what you suppose to do will spell damage).

The ideal usage is you want to get at least 2 kills with bloodmage out (in the same turn with your summon), bloodmage (first card), Direct Damage or AoE (second) card and giving you 2 for 2 (and almost certainly give you +1 card advantage after Deathrattle). An easy 2 for many.

if you're summoning for other reason than killing minions with the +spell damage, you're doing it wrong.

with novice engineer, it is almost certain that you would never able to kill a minion with it (only in rare situations where you can pick off some minions left with 1 hp), it simply replaces itself.

Bloodmage Thalnos is a legendry card while Novice Engineer is a basic card so you'll see is most common card used by most player, in term of it's efficiency both card have it pros and cons , for my opinion i think Bloodmage Thalnos is a clear board engine + draw while , novice engineer is earlier game dpser + draw card

you're right about novice engineer is for earlier game, but i dont agree on it is a dpser because it is nothing compared with 2/3 and 3/2 with 2 mana cost. It is definitely not a dpser, at most it is a card search tool with the bonus for being a minion.

whilst, i most certainly go for other 2/3 or 3/2 instead of a 1/2 if they're all in my hand, i would only use novice engineer as a filler when i have leftover mana or looking for better options in my deck.

bloodmage is definitely in a different league here, the primary use of bloodmage is to get decent value from a +spell dmg minion while having the bonus of a card draw and it is definitely not a tool to look search for card and shouldn't be played as a 2 drop.

actually some rounds during turn 2 ~ 3 they have no taunt minion nor bigger treat minions so this card can do at least 2 rounds of damage and it's hp is 2 mostly can survive 1 hit spells/damage , u know there's many possibilities in the game it might good or bad depends on luck , i usually like to use this to fish out the mage controls spells , if he save the spells i can hit twice if he spam at least the minion serve it purpose as a draw machine.

Engineer can make good cheap combo with brewmaster or shadowstep

Other than that i think its just a cheap draw mechanic card

hmm... i agreed on that, in certain extend, this is true for facing mage/priest/warlock with no 1 and 2 drops.

if i want Bloodmage Thalnos in my Deck, i would put that card in Rogue or Shaman Class Deck which provide many Offensive Spell Card that it can deal major damage to Minions or Heroes. you know what i meant to deal fast and more damage and end game earlier

just my sharing of my gameplay by using Shaman custom deck with basic cards and few cards from expert pack (just 2 or 3 only)
