Thanks for the update. Just gone through their new rebate system. Would like to know if i use this card to pay for my car loan instalment or other loan installment do I get rebate?
In fact not that bad in overall.
Keep this card for paying installment also doing online purchased. Should be a good choice
*
how can one use cc to pay loan? because cc itself is like a type of loan.
fyi, there is no option to pay car loan by cc. nod.gif

just like HLB Essential card which i cancelled last week....
the CS talk more than 20mins just want me to maintain the card..
*
i think 5 minutes is considered long enough for me, if someone keep talking to persuade me to maintain a cc. vmad.gif
and you bear with the cs for more 20 minutes?! blink.gif

unless you are interested to hear what the cs is going to offer you to maintain your cc? drool.gif

But usually new cycle always for the new card members. Should we cancel our card now, and become "new" card member when they start the new cycle?
*
yeah, let us all cancel now and become new members later. rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

Very good idea...hehehehe....
I think for most cards, usually the promo is for new card members only. Ok, will cancel this card soon then, although I just had it for a few months....
*
it's easier to cancel the card if you just have it for a few months. if you have it longer, sometimes you have a feeling with it already and not easily want to let it go (maybe hoping for miracles that ocbc will change back to the old system). LOL!

Thanks. Looks like I will be applying uob card soon. Any idea when gov actually start charging the rm50. Want to cancel the ocbc. Not sure if enough time
*
the rm50 gst will be charged into your first statement after you received your cc. basically once your card is approved, the gst is charged.

So supposed I got my ocbc last November, so they will deduct rm 50 this nov too?
*
you mean you received your ocbc cc last year november? means by this year november your second rm50 gst will be charged again.

Annually 10k?  Got ahh. Can get
*
if you spent rm10k in a year, ocbc will automatically absorb the rm50 gst for you.

QUOTE(patrickthissen @ Dec 2 2013, 08:14 PM)
Anyone here pay car loan using OCBC TMC??
tongue.gif
*
nobody can pay a loan using a loan.
credit card is a type of loan.
just like you can't pay a cc balance using another cc.

i think he meant that if we cancel the ocbc titanium now, when the next ocbc promotion/contest comes, we may be eligible for it when we apply as a new member. rolleyes.gif

New Customers mean applicants who have not held the bank Credit Card, whether as principal or supplementary cardholder, within the past 6 months or some bank credit card is 12 months before re-apply
*
yes, 12 months to be exact as per ocbc t&c for the contest.
that's why he asked to cancel earlier to be eligible for the next promotion/contest (12 months later).

maybe should 'upgrade' this titanium card to the world card as a big purchase backup, 0.2% is better than nothing haha
*
QUOTE(HeHeHunter @ Dec 3 2013, 10:13 AM)
But look at the annual fee first.
*
yes, there is no annual fee for titanium but rm388 for world (2nd year onwards).
maybe your 0.2% saving also not enough to cover the rm388... whistling.gif

Just spoke to Customer Service and GST waiver will be abolished effective 29 Nov 2013, together with 5% rebate. In short, you have to pay RM50 GST whether or not you hit RM10k in spendings yearly sad.gif.

QUOTE(jenli_84 @ Dec 3 2013, 11:18 AM)
just called and confirm no GST waiver even spent more than RM10k. My card due in Feb 2014. Time to transfer my insurance auto debit but MBB2CARD only 1x point =( my insurance provider dun accept AMEX.
*
with the confirmation from sweetpea123 and jenli_84 today, seems like we will have to pay the rm50 gst no matter how much you spent annually. mad.gif vmad.gif

I just applied past few months and many things changed.
1. 5% to 1%
2. 10k GST waiver gone.
3. KLIA lounge access if charge 3k gone.

These are the "features" mentioned in the e-mail they sent to me previously.

Worst still, they don't bother to inform you about the changes.  vmad.gif

guys, is the 5% rebate still applicable for the existing card owners who were enjoying the 5% rebate before the announcement? Kinda confused here by reading the top few post
*
http://www.ocbc.com.my/assets/pdf/Cards/cr...nnouncement.pdf

as per the announcement of revision in above link, all the benefits and privileges attached to the titanium card will be removed and replaced. so it applies to everyone who is holding this titanium card no matter you are a new or existing card holder.
