Yeah, no penalty if cancel within cooling period.
At first I was worried the refund incur complex and long process and missed my ocbc tmc due date, but end up was way early and I got just over 1 month of free credit period and enjoy free 1 month eFD. Unexpected gain. thumbup.gif
*
so, do it once a while and get additional small income from it. laugh.gif

But what matters is also the redemption points. If give 10x reward points but need very high points to redeem useless gifts also back to square 1

just like the useless stanchart redemption points. sweat.gif

QUOTE(ciohbu @ May 14 2014, 03:18 PM)
why not consider alliance bank classic/gold/platinum cash back ?

for classic
Cash Back | Payout Table | Cash Back Factor | Monthly Spending Range (RM)
Tier 1  0.50%  0-200
Tier 2  0.60%  201-350
Tier 3  0.80%  351-650
Tier 4  1.20%  651-1,000

for gold

Cash Back | Payout Table | Cash Back Factor | Monthly Spending Range (RM)
Tier 1  0.55%  0-300
Tier 2  0.65%  301-600
Tier 3  0.85%  601-950
Tier 4  1.30%  951-3,000

for platinum
Cash Back | Payout Table | Cash Back Factor | Monthly Spending Range (RM)
Tier 1  0.60%  0-500
Tier 2  0.70%  501-1,350
Tier 3  0.90%  1,351-2,550
Tier 4  2.00%  2,551-5,000

note : Cash Back will not be awarded for retail spending of RM1,001 and above for Alliance Bank Classic Credit Card, RM3,001 and above for Alliance Bank Gold Credit Card and RM5,001 and above for Alliance Bank Platinum Credit Card.

anyone using it / used it before ?  smile.gif any comment ?
*
it's tiers...
take classic as example, if you spend rm1k, you don't get 1.20% for the whole rm1k expenses. you only get around rm8.50 which is about 0.85% cash back.

I had applied Citi Cash Back Platinum Card.
I had projected my usage in the excel sheet and found that i gain RM7 cash back permonth if i switch to this new card.
*
means even lower than your ocbc rm8.90? then why switch? blink.gif shocking.gif

from what i heard, a new C-level or Director joined OCBC (supposedly from HLB) and reduced the cashback quantum (5%).
*
why not that new director from hlb increase the cashback to 10% (or higher) to compete with hlb? drool.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif

Ok. Thanks for the info.

Just called to cancel stating due to the 1% cashback. It sounds like CS have been hearing of the same reason too many times.  tongue.gif
