QUOTE(dark_evilz @ Dec 16 2007, 08:30 PM) i don't think so. i just get myself a second hand HD515 for gaming.imho, it has not bad bass.. actually is slightly more for my test already. for movie, gaming, it's very nice. and it's not boomy bass type. but it's more than sufficient for me. it has much more bass which is enough for even rock music. QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 18 2007, 11:37 AM) I bought a Senheiser HD515 back in Melbourne 3 years ago for Au$100 which is RM280 give or take. yesI like to use it for listening to music. However, since two years ago I bought the Logitech Z5500 for my home computer. This pair of headphones have been collecting dust since then. Do Senheisers manufacture those small headphones? I wanna get those to use in the gym though. Thanks in advance. mx500 / CX300 |

QUOTE(sep90 @ Apr 6 2008, 10:47 PM) most of them is probably noise cancelation so that y they so expensive bose more like branded name for all those ppl who could afford it sen more like mid range but it want to compare compare bose with audiotechnica i think i will choose audio for it cheaper and almost on par with bose afterall i think most of us can afford to get audiotechnica i gurantee u. if you compare HD650 / Hd600 of sennheiser to bose. there will no ppl say bose better than sennheiser. and for your info. sennheiser has HE90 electrostatic headphone which cost more than RM 20K that consider mid range? be fair lah pals. compare those product within same price range. don't lah compare RM 200 sennheiser to RM 1K BOSE. QUOTE(sep90 @ Nov 2 2008, 09:11 PM) using cardas connector bro damm hard to solder them in wow u even took out the sponge behind the driver.and terminated with canare f12 with my bling bling rca to mini lol the dampers i took it out for maximum sonic stage and less veilly i tried once remove the foam infront of driver for my sennheiser HD580. but then it is too exciting sound. so i place it back. seems i fall in love with the viel of sennheiser lol. although it is less bright. but all the detail is there. and the sound is just as thick as what i feel it's "nice". the more i listen to sennheiser. the more i love the headphone. will seriously consider buy a hd650 if i have spare money around.. |

smell the sponge see got weired smell or not. if it smells like chemical. then it's new
and u can see either the headphone got scratch or not. the cable got dust or not. which is rather hard to clean up. then u press softly with ur hand on the earcup sponge. if it is soft then it's used. |

QUOTE(kyo_jieming2000 @ Feb 16 2009, 01:09 PM) Hi, guys..I am very new to this forum..and also to the world of audiophile..a newb, basically.. i think . the problem with ur setup is the onboard soundcard.owned a HD515, so, I guess I belongs to the Senn camp here..lol I know its not the best headphone out there..If I have read reviews, would have gotten a HD555 instead..but its too late to regret now..^^;; 19 year old college student..so, I have a little budget only.. Anyways, I am here to ask a few questions: 1) Do HD 515 needs any amp?? 50ohms is not too hard to drive right?? but when I put my headphone into my father's old AV amplifier (Cambridge Audio), its sounds better..the bass is deeper..and soundstage is wider..hmm.. 2) Main music source is my Dell XPS laptop (listened to mostly 320kpbs mp3 a few FLAC..genre: R&B,J-pop, hip-hop..and occasionally, some orchestra)...not really satisfied with the onboard sound (internal Sigma Tel)..Do u think its worth it to upgrade to external sound card like Creative one?? u know, those plugged into the USB slot one.. HD515 isn't that hard to drive. get a proper USB soundcard or USB DAC will very much improve it. QUOTE(scottiebabie @ Mar 14 2009, 05:19 AM) hey guyz im back on da Senn camp with my latest acquisition of a very mint but used HD555. got it primarily for gaming & late nite movies but its turning out to be very very decent for porty use too. my sansa fuze (noted for its weaker output relative to da clip) drives it loud & sounds very nice to boot. amped its even better with a more tangible bottom & improved forward mids. highs are very airy & detailed wit very little or zero sibilance. sad to said that according to my own preference.... yours 10 years old senn mx500 has the best sound signature and best tonality balance.....wot stands out for me is its huge & deep soundstage - perhaps even better than my ex HD600 but tats based on memory soo dont quote me on it. regardless this HD555 has a great soundstage. amped its better than my ex grado sr225 overall. de sr225 (again only based on memory) wins out interms of mid bass slam but i do think da HD555 wins everywhere else esp da huge headstage. after trying it out for hrs lasnite -some of it lying on da bed- i can report its oso supremely comfortable. infact this mite be de most comfy fullcans i've tried. O & for those wit a need to know, a well driven HD6xx will blow this outta water ofcos but....& its a huge BUT....unamped offa ipod or wotever DAP or even a soundcard, this HD555 owns its big braders. its certainly surprizin me fo'sur & is IMHO a better 'audiophile' headcan than any of de lower-mid Grados Added on March 14, 2009, 5:23 amhey brader PcWork is tat me ex MX500? if it is, its approx 10yrs old & is brought over from london. hows de older ones SQ compare wit its new brethens?? and that's why i go for grab a new one for use of portable. as i don't wanna ruin the old grandfather mx500. but in the end, the purchase turn out to be quite a little bit dissapointment... though i still putting hope of burning it might improve it as your mx500.. hopefully i don't have to burn in for 10 years thats all.. Added on March 15, 2009, 1:05 pmwhat the.. HD800 driver. they moved the voice coil to middle section of the membrane... it perform exactly like a ring radiator tweeter huh..... no wonder they can control the sound signature by very accurate mean... senn engineer memang has huge brain... salute salute..! and senn really work professional as compared to grado.. no offend ya grado team.. ![]() I AM YOUR FATHER... i not sure about others. but when iget used to sennheiser sound.
i found out i rather to use the HD650 unamp / direct drive from my sound card/ direct push by Zune. instead of other headphone with amp. i feel HD650 unamp sounds better than other headphone amped. so for me. basically HD650 / HD600 / HD580 fairly easy to sound good. maybe it just suit my taste so well that even unamp also it sounds good to my ear.. personal preference lol.. Added on May 4, 2009, 11:01 pmbut... i shocked some guys who gathering in my house that i drive HD650 with my customised Cmoy with hard core component.. and i saw a lot of jaw drop. while we have xindak DAC and Dark voice on the spot too. QUOTE(Proclaimer @ May 18 2009, 11:37 PM) Thinking of getting either 2nd hand IE8 for my ipod or HD650 for my desktop.. imho.Any similarities between them..? Since i've only hear IE8 before.. i will suggest you go for IE8 for both ipod and desktop. you can still use the ie8 on your desktop right? while it's a bit harder to hse HD650 on ipod. =P so buying ie8 first is really suit u more. since u can use it both side. |
