I just get my Sennheiser HD485.

Anyone using da same version or more higher level...

Post your experience here....would like to know more about this headphones from Sennheiser...

I think there was a Sennheiser fan club last time... Don't know where it went though...

I'm on a HD555, the entry to the hi end audiophile world. Being on it for almost half a year ady. Will be getting a MH to drive it soon, hope to bring it to it's full potential.

But im eyeing the ATH K701, saving up now.

HD595 here. Mid level headphone I guess

The most significant thing about Sennheiser's headphones are the details. And HD595 is very easy to drive, headamp to me is more of a plus than a necessity to bring up good music

Had had a HD497 b4...
It sounds great, but less comfortable...

AKG K701 or ATH W1000?

these type of headphones are HEAVY.

HD650 joker here. Sounds crap with pop i must say, compared to other equipment i've auditioned. But feed it Scherzos, Classical Soundtracks and Jazzy tunes, and you'll just say "Damn, it's worth it"

argh.. HD650 is not universal music headphone ah?! i tot the king can conquer everything.

Btw, i saw mediaplex buck up at Rm2200.. davis really got a great deal here.

Does HD485 interesting than the AT u got currently? Or both is completely different sound signature?!

Universal in an Audiophile sense.

But not so universal in the empire23 sense where i like to throw in the occasional Animu faggish OST tune, or a radio pop tune just to lighten the mood and bop to the beat.

I test up i think all my heaphones is different level. Compare to my HD485 and AT-M30 is the HD485 More heavy & strong bass. meanwhile my AT-M30 is more to Monitoring but is lose up at bass level. HD485 so far i think are my best one lo. I been compare also my philips SHP 895 the bass still lose to HD485. (All Headphones tested with Mini-Eph and Behringer 800AMP Series).

i might change my mind to get a HP1000, get this i guess cause no need amp.

All heaphones improvement is base on amp. If HP1000 with amp sure will blow-up, fantastic..

yup...hd595 easier to drive than hp1000...err..i assume it's philips hp1000 and not the grado hp1000 right?

but you're comparing a rm400+ and rm700+ hp there.. ..for that budget u can try the hp1000 + headamp...

hd595 and hp1000 have a very different sound signature..u shud try both before committing to either one...IMHO..

Currently using the hd497 and pc as the source. Sounds good enough for me but it does tend to get warm after prolong usage

Using HD650 with Zu Mobius.

HD 595 improves little with amp usage in my opinion.

Just recently rewatched GITS 2nd Gig and Rozen Maiden exclusively on Zhaolu D2 + HD650.. you can say i really enjoyed that extra bit of detail offered by the combo. Neat~

No.. not all improvements come from amp. The right source is more of an improvement than a headamp.

Yeah.. I tried both HP895 and HD595... conclusion is HD595 already shines out of box. The headamp isn't helping as much compared to HP895. That's why I don't need to think of upgrading headamp anymore LOL

He's not saying there are no improvements with an amp
He's saying that an improvement can come from the source too

HD565 & 595 user here

Oh yeah, the 555 might be a beter choice than the HP1000 if you're not planning to get an amp
