For Agoda book now pay later option, when will Agoda charge our credit card? Also, will it be based on the amount in MYR at the time of booking or the current exchange rate?

I just found that my pay later booking in Booking.com has increased by RM200 as it is based on local currency  sad.gif

From my experience, Agoda will charge few days before the staying date which will be shown after confirmation of booking, and the price is based on the day you place the booking, for me like 4 months ago's MYR price. A hotel in Tokyo btw.

I'm surprise that pay later option on Booking.com would be a different rate.

I heard my friend said that if selected for "Pay later", the currency rate will be based on later when charging to your card, not the time you booking...
*
yup, that's true. especially if it's in overseas currency.

I received reply from Agoda CS that it will be charged as per the amount when you did the booking. So hopefully, by 'per the amount', he/she is referring to the example that I quoted in MYR.

For Booking.com, I overlooked the fact that we pay to the front desk upon check-in. Haih.

My income is less than 100k, so pbbvs is out. UOB VOX can be used for utilities? Like TnB?

How much is the rebate of CIMB CR?

for tnb, cimb cr is out. uob vox will be verified and confirmed by 30/9 as fruitie is currently testing on it.

You will need to apply additional cards and switch your Wise to utilities. Let other cards cover other categories.

what a bad news! must be due to many fraud cases by cc issued by malaysian banks.

p/s: thanks for the summary as it won't load on my phone due to either data slow or area coverage bad.

first of all, are you working for a Sdn Bhd or Bhd?
if sdn bhd, you should wait for at least 3 months full payslip before applying for cc

with the recent benefit revision, Maybankard 2 cards will no longer be a good choice, advice to to try aeon watami (if you can spend min 3k per quarter you get 3% cash back) or other aeon gold master/visa (klia lounge access). aeon has among the lowest forex rate too while amex has the highest. Else, just go for CIMB cash back or uob one. Chk respective thread for in-depth details
*
Much appreciate the recommendation @alexwsk. Got both aeon watami and maybank 2 cards last week.

Thanks to @fruitie @victorywp @ramjade sifus too!
