I use my ipad 2.1A charger to charge ALL my phones n tablets faithfully past 6 years. I have yet to experience any problems. Most modern gadgets has built in auto cut off for overcharging n limit of power input. Sceptics will tell you is not safe. Is your choice to decide on such

As I understand, each device have limitation on how much amp it can take.. Even if u use a 10amp charger, it doesn't mean it will charge faster... Correct me if I am wrong...

Hands itchy yesterday n I tested the 2 kitkat ROMs on XDA. Slimbean has few more features ( obvious is status bar mod) than deb version. Both ROMs does not have camera app since not working yet n gosms cannot work at all as it cannot accept any text input ( have tried several keyboards). Other than these 2 major issues both ROMs execute well n is very smooth,
Restored back to my Carbon ROM backup with TWRP this morning. N just completed updating it to 11nov version .
If you guys want to test advisable to wipe system too to avoid bootlooping. Make sure you do a backup of internal memory to thumbdrive or PC. I installed both ROMs from my thumb drive as system is wiped

Hi,is the following problems normal in this device? coz i just send the device for repair and now come back they said change motherboard and screen but the problem still exist...even though i just buy another one with LTE version still get the following problems.. Anyone experience it?


1.Gallery stock apps problem : When browse the movies file that I had install in my device, the gallery stock app will show green thumbnails for some of the movies file and unable to load the thumbnail of it correctly, the device then freeze and the device will reboot itself everytime when I browse the movies file which contains many movies. Even try for factory rest and clear data for gallery stock apps many times, the problems still occurs.

2. Audio stutter problem by rotating the screen when playing audio and videos.

hi all sifus, really thinking of buying the nexus 7 with lte. but after i read through all the post in this topic, i realise that there are bunch of problems encountered by u all. im those person who like to use the stock rom. T.T i afraid ill get a problem of it....help~

planning to buy nexus 7 2013. but i heard that there will be nexus 8 (rumours)

i think 8" will be a perfect screen size. i m affraid that if i buy the n7 now.. i will regret later if the rumours 8" nexus turn out to be true..

Nope, I don't have both issues you are facing currently.

I got mine last week and so far no problem out of box...my plan is to buy and root it out of box before i start to really use it, but i stayed for stock for a week and only unlock and root yesterday

why model u bought and where u get it?

i see.. then maybe is get defective unit again wifi unit after repair same issue again even change motherboard..now new set lte model same again had this issue i think need RMA....two months waiting for wifi unit, jst send again the wifi unit back for rma again dunno nid wait how long ....sad... damn me unlucky two times

You go to any phone thread n you will read of problems more than praises. It is human nature to complain . My past wifi n present LTE set had no such problems as reported.
Only minority are complaining.
You only worried if everyone is complaining about similar issue.

Have you consider the probability is your files has corrupted issues. If possible try testing those files you cannot have thumbnail displayed on another set ( your friend unit if you can get it)
Stuttering of audio positively none on my set

i still remember the raised/lifted screen issue with the 1st nexus 7. everybody was complaining the same issue. my unit also had that defect.. i was so worried when i read few n7 screen cracked because of the lifted screen. but, after a year of using my n7.. the screen is still in good condition.

Previously i use nexus 4 browse the same files nothing issues at all in gallery apps. I'm now thinking whether is stock rom bug or hardware problems. I maybe wait for android 4.4 then if issue exist again only send for RMA for mine LTE unit. Now need see how the second time RMA for mine wifi unit,if issue still havent solve dunno want how liao.. damn..In batu pahat, hardly saw people using nexus devices and most of them dunno what the device is... no chance try test with other unit at all..

I am using N7 LTE stock rom too. only rooted because i wanted to use AdAway and Cerberus root function. have been using it for a few weeks, so far no issues except for this one, explained below.


I realized that some units are affected with the random reboot issue. I got it when i first bought it(stock no modification), it will reboot randomly a few times a day. reflashed factory image, and all is well after that.

wipe data and cache when u root? o.o i din kena yet. ^^

the random reboots happened before i did anything to the n7.

if you are asking when i rooted the device, did i wiped the data and cached manually, then no.

but the process would definitely wipe your data if you haven't unlocked the bootloader.
