Buy at Senq with Citibank Platinum card, get 1 year manufacturer warranty, 1 year Senq warranty and 2 years Citibank warranty.
*

johrael just curious, can we get the additional 2 years Citibank warranty if we buy from other retailers as well? like DirectD satu gagdet etc?

QUOTE(echoesian @ Oct 25 2013, 01:06 PM)
This bug is really unacceptable for a smart device.

Does anyone experiencing occasionally tablet restart?

QUOTE(RustyCircuit @ Oct 25 2013, 01:20 PM)
Sheesh, why are you here really? Pointing out the obvious? So?!! Even after all the hoo-ha's about multitouch issues and yada-yada I still bought mine and so are the rest. If you feel that the product doesn't suit you or not at-par then go ahead and buy your fruit. I know you like em. It's not rocket either that you get to choose, well mine was the Nexus 7 FHD... Please this is a place where we, the Nexus 7 users discussed the 'obvious' so that we can find a solution or work-around on those issues. A place where we share our common interest which is the Nexus 7, how we play with it, what we do with it. The joy that we derived from it..
*
I understand the POV of both sides.

What I'd do is, play around with a test unit of the N7 and see if you like how it feels etc. If you do buy it, and the touchsreen is having issues, send to ASUS to get a screen replacement. If it is without any issue, just enjoy it! thumbup.gif

This is my usage for today. Stock rooted, LTE model but without sim card. Around 6 hours 13 minutes screen on time for 72 % of battery usage.

If you extrapolate it for say almost 90% of battery usage, you'll get around 7 hours 40 minutes screen on time.

Brightness set to auto

hi all sifus, really thinking of buying the nexus 7 with lte. but after i read through all the post in this topic, i realise that there are bunch of problems encountered by u all. im those person who like to use the stock rom. T.T i afraid ill get a problem of it....help~
*
I am using N7 LTE stock rom too. only rooted because i wanted to use AdAway and Cerberus root function. have been using it for a few weeks, so far no issues except for this one, explained below.

I realized that some units are affected with the random reboot issue. I got it when i first bought it(stock no modification), it will reboot randomly a few times a day. reflashed factory image, and all is well after that.

wipe data and cache when u root? o.o i din kena yet. ^^
*
the random reboots happened before i did anything to the n7.

if you are asking when i rooted the device, did i wiped the data and cached manually, then no. smile.gif

but the process would definitely wipe your data if you haven't unlocked the bootloader.

i
1.unlocked bootloader via fastboot
2. fastboot flash twrp
3. root via CFAutoRoot

I have a N7 LTE and have been unable to install whatsapp on it and Google Play store says that it is incompatible with N7. I noticed some of you are able to install it.

Care to share? Thanks.
*
here you go http://www.whatsapp.com/android/

just install the apk and activate normally.

QUOTE(ThehWS @ Nov 14 2013, 12:16 PM)
crap then i guess i best bet is to reflash 4.3, root and then only flash 4.4. Thanks for your help
*

most likely there is some modification to your /system partition. you can flash the factory image of 4.3 for the /system only. this way, your data and apps would be intact. then just use TWRP to sideload it again.

I can't test it out now, since mine is an LTE version, but that is how i did it on my N4, when i was still using stock. it should work the same on N7

Malaysia still not yet roll out OTA 4.4 right?
*
the roll out is completely random, not by region. if yours is wifi unit, you can already sideload the update, instead of waiting tongue.gif

Isn't it easier to use recovery mode to flash the update zip instead of sideloading?
*
yeap uncle benny, that is what i meant actually. put the zip in your device and flash it like a rom, then reflash supersu. profit! rclxms.gif

now waiting for that ota.zip for lte model.

anyone know that if i need to unroot first before updating to kitkat via OTA when it come out later?

currently nexus 7 LTE running stock rom and stock kernel but have root and unlocked
prefer not to lose any data...got lot of games  smile.gif
*
flash the OTA zip file in your custom recovery. and you might have to reflash supersu, might not.

if you don't want to wait (like me tongue.gif)

download the factory img and flash the system img ONLY, via fastboot. if your bootloader and radio are still not the kitkat ones, flash them too. and then flash supersu again in recovery.

both methods won't disturb your data.

mine using normal recovery , so will it affect root ? planning to keep root after OTA update
*
Just flash the latest TWRP. Someone has already posted the OTA zip file for wifi version.

Razor KRT16S from KRT16O http://j.mp/1bPcO2m

This is for wifi only.

Download it, reboot to custom recovery, and flash it like a ROM. You may have to reflash supersu.

What mean by unmodified system files n how can I make sure it? As I'm running stock ROM & kernel but rooted, therefore not sure what files has been modified. How can I check that?
*
If you are completely stock with only root, open supersu and look for full unroot or installation. Try reflashing the zip file again. You will then need to flash the latest supersu again. Available here j.mp/latestsupersu

anyone tried downgrade their LTE nexus 7 from 4.4 to 4.3.1 ? Does it boot up?

Yeap it did. But went back to 4.4 after KRT16S. Why are you looking to downgrade? I flashed the factory image

my N7 still at 4.4. Everytime i press update, it shows system is up to date...how you get 4.4.2 by OTA? rclxub.gif
*
Just sideload it, or flash it in recovery if you have TWRP installed. Stock kernel, rooted, installed busybox and adaway.

Download the OTA zip file
Reboot to TWRP
Flash the OTA zip file
Flash supersu again.

Profit

Been doing this since 4.3

QUOTE(suntzulee @ Dec 10 2013, 02:40 PM)
i see. you mean around 5GB is the system files for kit kat? but the rom size is just less than 500mb... hmm.gif

oh yea, i played with the lock and unlock bootloader option in toolkit. At the end, the whole internal storage got formatted. Any way to recover it?
*

No need to relock your bootloader again, unless for warranty reason

QUOTE(LiSheng95 @ Dec 18 2013, 06:19 PM)
Hello there I bought a nexus 7 on Monday and I got a slightly warmer screen which I can't get used to and now another problem surfaced my touch screen fail to respond to  all the touches when 3 or more touches is press simultaneously. For example, I place 4 finger on the screen simultaneously but sometimes only 2/3 fingers manage to register a touch , should I bring my nexus 7 for an exchange?
*
The screen is slightly warmer, but then the Nexus 4 stock setting has a more blue ish tint and looks washed out because the screen is actually a bit flawed and they had to go for that setting to avoid colour banding.

My N4 looks better after colour tweak still too blue ish. I think the N7 Screen is very good.

Maybe compare your Nexus 7 with another unit or demo unit and compare the colour at the same brightness level.

That touch issue is quite bad. Do you use a screen protector? Demo the touch issue when you ask for a replacement. They have apps for that.
QUOTE(doggydogg @ Dec 19 2013, 01:20 AM)
guys, is it still possible to activate whatsapp in anyway possible? like titanium method
*

just install the apk from whatsapp main site, and verify the number. it worked for me. i then changed it to whatsapp+ because i love the colour tweaks tongue.gif (to install whatsapp plus, backup current whatsapp via helium or tb, uninstall whatsapp, install whatsapp+ then restore data and it should work)

you can of course use the titanium backup method and restore a saved whatsapp data from another device, but do note that whatsapp can be run on one number, so whatsapp on the previous device would fail.
