I was on PA 3.99 RC1 for a few weeks. Yesterday in the middle of replying to a hangout, it just force restarted and started to boot loop. Tried re-flashing ROM, kernel, and even gapps. No luck. Still boot looping. Kinda lost everything since 4am the day before. Imagine if no backup shakehead.gif

Have since swapped to carbon. Happy with it. Was having like 1-2 force restart daily on PA. None on carbon till now. thumbup.gif

what kernels are you guys using with carbon?

I'm planning to get a nexus4 but worried with the reviews.

Gsmarena test revealed terrible online browsing battery life. Is this true on today's android updated version?

so far the "common" problem they mention wasnt encounter yet.. i guess im just lucky to get a problem-free N4.. rclxms.gif

and

erm..if you google the phone spec that they review, the reason most of it tat having "better" battery life compare to N4 was because their battery capacity was bigger than N4..

i mean, v dont compare 3100mah battery capacity with 2100mah battery capacity and said the 2nd one having bad battery life.. for example..

just my2cents.. but they do right about the battery life is: it still depends on how the users use it.. biggrin.gif

i finally uncover the mystery why i cant get 4 hours SOT.. today i just got 4 hours + SOT with wifi + 3g surfing.. its because of the reception. if got good reception, my battery graph doesn't fall so steep, but if i have bad signal, the battery graph will drop very steep.
in conclusion: umobile has bad reception in my home

Yup , that is what i was thinking as well. All smart phones have battery life issue. It all depends on how you wanna use it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Heat? Yeah on stock, but can be fixed on custom rom/kernel, you know why? because stock rom, the Nexus 4 always turn on 4 core run all the time even on small matter. sweat.gif
Normally on stock rom/kernel, heat happen on Sync/3G/Charging sometime. Same goes to battery life can be improve by flashing custom kernel. Fix those heavy wakelock problem then no more worry.

Not sure why, but another one of my friend is using PA3.99 RC2. Same problem of forced reboot. Last straw for me was bootloop.

Changed my power button and volume button last Friday at Kelana Jaya service center. Speedy service and repair on the spot. Complained that there is some creaking sound from the back cover. Got a back cover replacement with two tiny nubs.

only concern is about folders ... i dont really care about game data ... hahaha ... contacts and some other stuff are sync with google account so i am not so worried. Some users suggested other launchers but i like stock launcher hahaha ... thinking of using apps which can put apps in folder then maybe i will use Titanium to backup that app and restore it back... laugh.gif

The screen cost RM360. Add on RM30 for labour if you are not under local warranty.
