i just got a 2x 1gb kingston-800mhz on CL5. so just wondering if i can get more out of it without too much trouble (mobo is asus p5ld2 se)?

user posted image

Also, in the screenshot above, i have 4 RAM slots total used which is my old 2x512mb(512mhz) and the new 2x1gb(800mhz)... is it ok to match all of them together?

TQ sifu-sifu!

of course its ok to put them all together but the downside is, it will run at the lowest speed which is 266MHz (SPD) as shown in the screenie.

for me, its better if u take out ur old 2x512 and let alone the 2x1gb run at dual channel+800Mhz speed.

ok.. i get you.. since i don't really need up to 3gb of RAM, it's better to cut it down to 2gb which will make it run at faster speed yeah?

any of the PC2-8000's can do this even the gskill's

they all are microns..
the pc2-8500 4gbs onwards nowadays are pcp.. which are not that bad also..

the highest clocked microns 4gbs are still the ocz pc2-9200 flex 2 which is sold out and back to back order word wide..
cause so far the only 4gb kit that can do 1200 CL5 tRD 7 on 500 fsb...

icic thx for the info cstkl1, may be i go look for a pair of these 4gb too.

most i see manage to get 1000mhz only above 1.95v, seldom i see can get lower. may be i'll try see mine can go or not.... long time never tweak the rams already hehe

well i agree PCP is not bad at all,
