i'm still sticking with slimrom 4.2.2. temasek better? any known issues that i should take note?

i am using snap camera HDR too. i use it for video recording. love that it can snap pic and manual focus during video recording. but i never use it as main camera because laggy animation. the kitkat stock camera app is so smooth. swipe to gallery is super smooth, duno why snap camera have very jerky animation.

i cant give you a sure answer about how effective is the camera fix. i just flashed it this morning.
i did lots of test and i did not encounter the "cant connect to camera" even once.

before the fix, there is a 100% way of producing the bug, just press the shutter very fast for many many times.
view finder will hang, and camera app become unresponsive (same for any 3rd party). after close and reopen, cant connect to camera. need use temasek restart camera app.
using snap camera HDR, during video, spam the shutter button, camera will hang and after close and reopen app, cant connect to camera app again.

after flash the fix, i manage to snap 30 pics in succession without error. but if i hit the shutter too fast, it will freeze a short while. exit and reenter camera app, it still functional, no need restart camera.

ah, good old slimbean 4.2, i used it for the longest time, even after 4.3 out. i never stayed in any 4.3 rom because of the laggy aosp browser.

so far for me kitkat rom are good. camera good (after fix), aosp browser smooth. everything available in slim 4.2 is in temasek. (except for lock screen hardware button remapping, such as long press home/menu/back to do something when in lock screen)

about issues, i think got 3 issues.

first is any kitkat thread also got people complain bluetooth audio problem. but i can connect to bluetooth speaker fine. i listen to music all the time with bluetooth. most of the complain is problem with bluetooth audio when connected to car built in bluetooth audio system to make calls. since my car dont have bluetooth, i cant test it.

2nd is wifi tethering. i think all kitkat rom still have not get this working. again i never test this because my data plan very limited, and i never used this feature at all. so no idea it is still working or not.

3rd is aosp browser, it will 100% force close if you open incognito window. not such a big deal cos i can use the incognito mode in chrome.

that's all the issues i can think off right now based on what i learn lurking in xda thread. even omni and cm, they are very stable, no sudden reboot, weird battery drain (people who complain in xda clearly have app issue and not rom related)

1. So basically the camera problem is gone so far after you flashed the 10.2 camera fix?
I agree that Snap Camera HDR animation isn't smooth, but I use it because of all the functions

2. Referring to the bluetooth problem, is it only for when pairing up with speakers/car audio system got problem?
Is there any problem when it comes to bluetooth file transfer to other phones?

3. Battery life has been decent for you right?

for item no 3. Depend on what are you doing aka subjective.

But I do notice that (using 4.3 or 4.4 rom) if I am using fb/twitter official and chrome apps, battery usage will be higher

but no different when I was using 4.1.2 samsung xperiarom

imo backup/flashing doesn't utilize higher battery usage compare to that.

1. i just flash the fix this morning, based on my stress test on the camera, i no longer can force it to canot connect to camera. need more time to see whether it will still happen or not.

2. file transfer works fine, no issues. i send many files and it works.

3. battery life is awesome with my extended battery. so i duno got difference or not between 4.4 and 4.3

I plan to flash temasek CM11 4.4.2 tomorrow. Do post here if you do encounter any issues though. Hope everything is good

3. kit kat use a bit higher vs 4.3 , but since we using extended battery, we hardly notice it

min 5 hours of sot for both 4.3 and 4.4

version 22 eh

How often does temasek update the ROM?

Perhaps should I wait for V23 if it's coming very very soon?

OH and one more question I almost forgot to ask..
What extra features are there in temasek's CM11 ROM compared to other normal CM11 builds?

hard to say, sometimes daily, sometime 2-3 days once

but i did try few version, such as v3, v6, v7 v19 and v20 so far less issue

i could say, whatever in slim bean 4.3 have, 4.4 have it, of coz some stuff still not in yet

On second thought, I'm itching to get my hands on 4.4.2 now.

Hi there. I have a Galaxy S3( GT-I9300). my current Base band version is I9300DXEMB1 and my Android version is 4.1.2 . I still have about 6 month of guaranty left. I heard if you flash the phone to install new versions you will lose your guaranty. Is that true? if it is true. is it good to update to new version 4.3?
