Just flashed Paranoid Android 3.99RC2 on my phone.

Everything's great. stock camera sucks compared to samsung's camera. Had to install camera zoom fx from play store doh.gif

And I miss the ability to custom arrange icons in the app drawer. Anyone knows any launcher that can do that? apex and nova both don't have it either doh.gif

Currently running ParanoidAndroid 3.99. Loving it so far, everything silky smooth thumbup.gif

Just wondering, anyone using this "Fusion ROM"? biggrin.gif

Looks pretty awesome. Does it have 'Halo' and 'Pie' feature similar to paranoidandroid's?

Currently on ParanoidAndroid 3.99RC2.

Anyone knows if there's any new releases for ParanoidAndroid? Like 4.4 Kitkat or something?

The thread I've been visiting on xda seems to have been stagnant for quite some time. not sure if this is the official Paranoidandroid thread or not rclxub.gif

have been on RC2 since September, and yeah its pretty much stagnant as there is no development for the main nexus devices. for PA when the nexus devices are updated then the maintainers for the other devices such as S3 will update our devices. the link that you've posted is the official thread for S3 smile.gif

they are currently working on 4.4 from scratch for the nexus devices, so yeah, it will be sometime before we can get the 4.4 update from PA. do check out their official Google+ page for updates. quite tempted to try out omni though  tongue.gif

Found a killer camera app.

Has Best of Samsung camera and aosp camera feature.

-working HDR mode, something aosp camera lack
-swipe left in view find to view last pic, Samsung camera no such feature
-no rotation animation when change orientation, aosp bug fixed
-no view finder cropping, finally, stupid aosp bug fixed
-very cool focus animation
-able to choose focus mode
-volume button shutter
-able to toggle 4.2 and 4.3 aosp cam interface, and add custom shortcuts
-able to save to sd card

Here's the killer feature,
-touch viewfinder  to focus during video recording, AND able to capture full 8mp pictures at the SAME time.
-stable shot, something new, camera only capture when phone is steady. Great for shaky hands.

Unfortunately it's a paid app called Snap Camera HDR.
Well worth the money for me.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...rginz.snaptrial
Can try the trial version, full functionality but only works on airplane mode.
I gave it a test and totally love it. So I bought the full version.

Whoa, thanks for the recommendation!

This indeed is one of the best camera apps out there thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

edit : somehow i can't get the pictures to save into my specified pictures folder. it keeps creating it's own folder even though i've already changed it in the settings doh.gif

Already tried. Anyway it seemed like it's the gallery that's messing up.

Ended up downloading QuickPic to solve the problem brows.gif

Great camera app though thumbup.gif

Anyone here using Temasek's CM11 4.4.2 kitkat ROM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797109

I'm currently on ParanoidAndroid 3.99RC2 Android 4.3.
Really interested to try out temasek's CM11 ROM.

May I know if it's stable for daily use? biggrin.gif

i am using temasek currently, it's my daily driver now.
i gave up on omni long ago, and yesterday i gave up on cm also. 2 weeks of nighty, and no new feature added. heck those are not even new feature, i mean they still unable to add back simple things from cm10.2 to cm11.

temasek is the most complete cm11 rom right now. i was hesitant to use because worry that it is not stable. but i dont really feel any difference with cm11. so i guess it's safe to stick with it.

all kitkat rom have terrible camera. not the quality, but the camera always get the "cant connect to camera" issue.
i bugged me for a long time. but finally there is a fix.

flash this camera fix, it will give you another camera&gallery app from cm10.2 (i just freeze it cos i dont use it, kitkat camera and gallery is more awesome)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505973

the above zip just add the more stable lib files for the camera, after that flash this to get google camera and gallery with photosphere
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2556688

i dont use custom kernel. temasek + banks gapps + camera fix,

my phone finally reach perfection. very satisfied. doubt i will be changing rom again until the next android version out. android lolipop maybe?

thanks for your detailed reply! thumbup.gif

All kitkat ROMs have camera problem that can be fixed by flashing that CM10.2 fix? Does that mean that even if I use a 3rd party app from Play Store (Snap Camera HDR), it will still have problems if I don't flash the 10.2 fix?

i am using snap camera HDR too. i use it for video recording. love that it can snap pic and manual focus during video recording. but i never use it as main camera because laggy animation. the kitkat stock camera app is so smooth. swipe to gallery is super smooth, duno why snap camera have very jerky animation.

i cant give you a sure answer about how effective is the camera fix. i just flashed it this morning.
i did lots of test and i did not encounter the "cant connect to camera" even once.

before the fix, there is a 100% way of producing the bug, just press the shutter very fast for many many times.
view finder will hang, and camera app become unresponsive (same for any 3rd party). after close and reopen, cant connect to camera. need use temasek restart camera app.
using snap camera HDR, during video, spam the shutter button, camera will hang and after close and reopen app, cant connect to camera app again.

after flash the fix, i manage to snap 30 pics in succession without error. but if i hit the shutter too fast, it will freeze a short while. exit and reenter camera app, it still functional, no need restart camera.
snap camera HDR during video, how fast i press shutter also it never freeze.

so i guess the fix do work. need to observe it longer.

ah, good old slimbean 4.2, i used it for the longest time, even after 4.3 out. i never stayed in any 4.3 rom because of the laggy aosp browser.

so far for me kitkat rom are good. camera good (after fix), aosp browser smooth. everything available in slim 4.2 is in temasek. (except for lock screen hardware button remapping, such as long press home/menu/back to do something when in lock screen)

about issues, i think got 3 issues.

first is any kitkat thread also got people complain bluetooth audio problem. but i can connect to bluetooth speaker fine. i listen to music all the time with bluetooth. most of the complain is problem with bluetooth audio when connected to car built in bluetooth audio system to make calls. since my car dont have bluetooth, i cant test it.

2nd is wifi tethering. i think all kitkat rom still have not get this working. again i never test this because my data plan very limited, and i never used this feature at all. so no idea it is still working or not.

3rd is aosp browser, it will 100% force close if you open incognito window. not such a big deal cos i can use the incognito mode in chrome.

that's all the issues i can think off right now based on what i learn lurking in xda thread. even omni and cm, they are very stable, no sudden reboot, weird battery drain (people who complain in xda clearly have app issue and not rom related)

I was just about to ask you if there was any bugs on kitkat temasek ROM notworthy.gif

I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking sweat.gif

1. So basically the camera problem is gone so far after you flashed the 10.2 camera fix?
I agree that Snap Camera HDR animation isn't smooth, but I use it because of all the functions brows.gif

2. Referring to the bluetooth problem, is it only for when pairing up with speakers/car audio system got problem?
Is there any problem when it comes to bluetooth file transfer to other phones?

3. Battery life has been decent for you right?

1. i just flash the fix this morning, based on my stress test on the camera, i no longer can force it to canot connect to camera. need more time to see whether it will still happen or not.

2. file transfer works fine, no issues. i send many files and it works.

3. battery life is awesome with my extended battery. so i duno got difference or not between 4.4 and 4.3

I plan to flash temasek CM11 4.4.2 tomorrow. Do post here if you do encounter any issues though. Hope everything is good icon_rolleyes.gif

How often does temasek update the ROM?

Perhaps should I wait for V23 if it's coming very very soon? sweat.gif

OH and one more question I almost forgot to ask..
What extra features are there in temasek's CM11 ROM compared to other normal CM11 builds? laugh.gif

edit : it's okay, I think i found the answer to my own question brows.gif
