but if your budget below 200 i would also suggest silver....cos silver will usally have a nice glow...seldom see a dull silver aro...but just to let you know rearing a silver aro more challenging...

others species like pearl and silver arowana range RM60 to RM100
the shop owner told me that yellow N green aros if lucky got many yellow n green colors, is that right?

Silver Aro is very ugly. Look like a ikan parang.
For budget Aro(<Rm100), best is a Pearl (RM55 in Jln Pasar)

<RM200 I'ld go for a Green not a YT.(tail 2 tone color damm jalat)

1.5(Gd 2) can get for RM400 but u will regret. No color and no demand.

found few info about Green arowana & Yellow Tail Aro
QUOTE
Green Arowana:
Is considered the lowest grade of the Asian Arowana . It scales are silvery-white to white color with slightly green fins . It is also the cheapest of the Asian Arowana and not a protected species . But it still have a quantity of a fine Arowana .
Green Arowana is found in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. The scales are not bright and often translucent with some grey or green color. The color is even throughout the body (no dark-top). The tail can be grey, purplish-grey or green in color. This fish is generally shorter then its Asian relatives. This is the most affordable Asian arowana.
QUOTE
Yellow-Tail Arowana:
Is believed to be the cross between the Gold and Green Arowana . Its scales are usually milky-white with yellow colored fins and tails . It is about the same price as the Green Arowana .

It simply doesnt have the "majestic" presence of an Asian Aro.

Btwn. silver and Jardini(Pearl), Jardini won hands down!

Not suitable, the min. tank sizs for Aro is 2' x 4'

Why put in the Koi/Goldfish? It will polute this taNK IN NO TIME AND SOON it WILL END UP as prey for the Aro.

i dont think so, coz, silver is tend to be quite aggressive like coconut says. oh well, each individuality is diff, but to me, who use to rear silver and yellow tail, find silver kinda aggressive and harder to mix with other tankmates.

Fyi, silver aros are originated frm south america. Not asia.
Anyway it depends to individual to justify the fish. icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW, i mix my silver aro with 9 other fishes
i bandaraya, 2 tiger shark (i guess), 2 gold fish, 2 koi fish n another 2
i think no rpblem with that since my silver aro quite shy n aggressive
still shy to me lor

gonna see it's progress whether it's ok or not
if not, i bet the aro will eat other fishes
we'll see whether it can mix or not or i'll loose all the fish biggrin.gif

kinda worry coz my silver aro got no janggut lor like coconut posted here
How come meh?
