Interesting, out of curiosity, may i ask why you suggest for pb visa sig as the cash back is only up to rm60,while  i think i can work to get rm100 hlb wise? I missed anything here?
*
just another option for you to consider since you already looking at hlb wise. and of course, hlb wise is the first choice and this the second.

1. Annual Income: RM36k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A must

3. Card required for: Mostly for petrol (200-300)

4. Existing credit cards if any: -

5. Looking at CC from: MBB2Cards / UOB 1 Card

Please advice. Thanks.  smile.gif
*
the 2 cc that you are looking for is good for your petrol needs.
both have their own advantages and disadvantages.

advantages for mbb2cards:
- you get 5%+5x points for weekend usage; 5x points for weekdays usage.
- no minimum usage to be entitled for the rebate (monthly petrol rebate capped at rm50).

disadvantages for mbb2cards:
- you need to pay rm100 for 2 gst but you will only use one of the cc which is amex.
- only weekends (sat & sun) entitled for 5% rebate on petrol.

advantages for uob1card:
- you get 5% for everyday usage.
- no minimum usage to be entitled for the rebate.

disadvantages for uob1card:
- usually by the mid of the month the allocation for petrol rebate will be fully used up = no more 5% rebate.
- monthly petrol rebate capped at rm25 (platinum) and rm15 (gold).

As i shared in PBB VS thread, PBB has different stamp duty charge for their credit cards.

MBB only charge RM10 stamp duty for their Premier 2 card with 50k CL, PBB told me they charge 0.5% of CL for all their credit card secure with fd pledging. Which means for PBB VS with 30k CL is RM150.
*
but Wongchoy tried with only rm10 as below...

QUOTE(Wongchoy @ Jul 14 2014, 01:58 PM)
When my initial application was unsuccessful, i tried to appeal by pledging FD. I was only required to pay RM10 for the setem hasil to be affix to the 'right to set-off' form. Never heard of that 0.5% stamp duty thing at all.

roughly how much is your monthly expenses for grocery?

i think you can choose to apply aeon watami 3% cashback per quarter (minimum usage of rm3k per quarter to qualify for the cashback). this aeon watami is a visa cc so it is acceptable everywhere and so it will be easy for you to achieve rm3k per quarter for the 3% cb which also includes dining, insurance, car service, online purchase, bills, etc.

roughly for grocery is around RM200 per month...depends...

any other choice beside Aeon?
*
otherwise you can go for cimb petronas. 5% petrol cash back at any petronas on 1st weekend of every month, and 2% on any other day. and 0.5% on all other retail spend. also 10% cash back on car services at perodua (good if you drive perodua).

3. Card required for: oversea spend as most of the time I will be at foreign country

4. Existing credit cards if any: maybank 2gold, Citibank clear & reward, uob one card.

5. Looking at CC from: no idea. Just feel if I'm spending oversea, there must be one good card which I can maximize the points or cash back. Even better if the card has unlimited airport lounge access.
*
you should get this maybank vs...
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3299626

these are what will interest you:
- 5x TREATSPoints for every RM1 spend overseas. TREATSPoints can be converted to cashback at a rate of 250TP to RM1. No capping amount, which means 2% unlimited cashback for overseas transaction.
- Enjoy unlimited complimentary access to Plaza Premium airport lounges.

Hi, I would appreciate your help. This is my particulars.

1. Annual Income:  RM180K and above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Cash Back/Rebate Only

4. Existing credit cards if any:

Alliance Bank PL Visa (max. 68.75 cash back already from monthly insurance).
+4 others which I am thinking of cancelling (Ambank PL CARZ Master, Public Bank PL Visa, RHB PL Master, Citi Bank PL Visa)

5. Looking at CC from: Thinking of getting 2 to replace the above 4, maybe Citibank cashback / Hong Leong essential

6. Others:

Not interested in Airport Lounge Access, I don't travel much international

New cards to pay for below expenses apart from the 5K monthly insurance above;

- insurance 30000 once off on April next year (<- looking for max cash back for this big item)
- internet Taopao ~ 600 per month
- internet malaysian airlines ~ 400 to 1000 per month (all domestic only)
- internet utilities (streamyx, postpaid digi, electricity) ~ 500 per month
- supermarket grocery ~ 300 per month
- petrol ~ 150 per month

Thank you very much.
*
1) pbb vs for grocery/online/dining 6% capped at rm60/month
2) ocbc tmc / hlb essential for 1% unlimited cashback

you may need a third cc besides the 2 cc suggested above, perhaps cimb cr platinum (5% for online) or mbb2cards (5%+5xtp during weekends).

1. Annual Income: Undisclosed

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: PruBSN insurance monthly premium installment ( > RM1k monthly)

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil

5. Looking at CC from: Any credit card provider with good effective cash back (CB+reward points+etc)

6. Others: Please be specific. Example: I want cash back and and reward points from monthly insurance installment only.

Thanks!
*
go for aeon watami 3% cashback per quarter with minimum rm3k expenses per quarter (up to rm5k per quarter).
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2664640

actually without you disclosing your annual income, it is hard for us to suggest you. but since aeon watami is just a classic card, it will be easy for anybody to get it.
