I think D7000 is good enough? The D7100's upgrades doesn't seem to be of any significance compared to the D7000.

For website use, but sometimes companies will ask media for the pictures instead since they don't have photographer. A little bit of both but the latter is less.

Harder to spot, but it will look less natural due to too smooth and watercolor feel, or lack of details, even you view at smaller size, will see like something; not sure how to put it, but usually phone pictures will apply heavy noise reduction and even share in small size, you can see it.

Even got noise, when you view at small size, it's hardly noticeable as it actually gives more details to the picture.
But then, it really depends on personal preference, many people don't mind the smoothening effect, or prefer those "angelic" look by reducing clarity,

Hello all sifus, I have one simple question.

After seeing so many photos shared by sifus here, I noticed one trend. Most of the photos have watermarks.

How do you guys create these nice and professional-looking watermarks? Any software?

I watermark my stuffs to avoid stealing by POS Malaysia
But as what Flickr mentioned, there is no fool-proof way of preventing photo theft, apart from not uploading the photo at all T______T
I suppose the trick is to keep it as simple as you can, like most of the sifus are doing here
Can try downloading some better and nicer fonts to stand out too~
Personally, I'd advice not to use the word "Photography" as a watermark until you are really pro haha, cause once you put that word in, expectations (and even hostility) towards you will increase T____T

Yeah, Lightroom can do bulk watermark, but afaik, they are all placed at the same exact location, so it might be a pain if the watermark doesn't blend too well with the background

better just stick a big text watermark right in the middle like agencies do

Most of the pro photographers out there just put their website on the bottom of the shot in a small size as watermark

i don't see why people need to make watermark with some complicated design and colorful.

I had another problem instead of watermark design. Too many different user names

Now I don't know if i should put watermark that links to my website or just put watermark that shows my name.
