hmm.gif so in the bottom line the recommended body is in between D7000 and D7100... Best recommendation is the Tamrom 17-50mm lens right?
*
more like you said you used a lot of DSLR bodies, so they assume you will get frustrated with controls of D3xxx and D5xxx series beginner body series, so if you get that you might change body within 1 year. better get higher range like D7000 and D7100 for more control convenient

Now that you mentioned it, it does frustrate me when I wanted to change some of the commonly used features. End up using no-flash auto more.
I think D7000 is good enough? The D7100's upgrades doesn't seem to be of any significance compared to the D7000.

As far as I know, bodies don't really make much difference within the same family of DSLRs, it's the lens that tells the story. Am I correct?
*
more like your skill tongue.gif

D7000 and D7100 got some difference, the AA filter and MP difference. it might useless or useful depend on you. larger MP always allow you crop more picture without worry it will too small unsure.gif

For website use, but sometimes companies will ask media for the pictures instead since they don't have photographer. A little bit of both but the latter is less.

I suppose D7000 is good enough then?
*
ya D7000 is good enough. smile.gif

but D4 is more than enough drool.gif brows.gif

Harder to spot, but it will look less natural due to too smooth and watercolor feel, or lack of details, even you view at smaller size, will see like something; not sure how to put it, but usually phone pictures will apply heavy noise reduction and even share in small size, you can see it.

Even got noise, when you view at small size, it's hardly noticeable as it actually gives more details to the picture.
But then, it really depends on personal preference, many people don't mind the smoothening effect, or prefer those "angelic" look by reducing clarity,

Btw, did you do any manual CA correction?

Oh ya, nice watermark~
*
simple watermark will do, no need do so complicated tongue.gif
nope, duno how to do CA yet, lazy to do it laugh.gif

Anyway, you buy D800 to go to Singapore and take Ah Moi pics?  biggrin.gif
*
ya got a bit blown out, but in order to blow up sky this is the best i can do. i not sure how to use PS to edit NEF file like JPG like normal way. normally edit NEF files i just slide the slider in RAW editor unsure.gif

Just my noob 2 cents haha, I am never good at taking landscape shots  tongue.gif

hmm flyer senget... i google a bit and saw many senget photo unsure.gif *runs*
because that time i switch to JPEG due to RAW file storage i only can shot 100 shot for my 8GB CF card...but then later on i still switched to RAW unsure.gif

Oh, I meant the Flyer seemed a bit distorted, probably caused by the lens, should be able to correct it via lens profile in Lightroom.

Hello all sifus, I have one simple question.

After seeing so many photos shared by sifus here, I noticed one trend. Most of the photos have watermarks.

How do you guys create these nice and professional-looking watermarks? Any software?

Thanks...

a watermark basically is something near logo or icon, which is first glance you will know what what is that shiat.

eg: CY pixel, his logo is the one of the best yet simplified and easy to recognize, not to mention his avatar in forum also helping memorize the logo. laugh.gif

another nice one is Tan Ji's logo laugh.gif

about the purpose it is up to you either block whole photo for prevent steal it for using it like POS LAJU whistling.gif
or just use it as a credit purpose.

Thank you bro~ Usually it will be nicer to have a fixed logo or signature I suppose tongue.gif
I watermark my stuffs to avoid stealing by POS Malaysia laugh.gif
But as what Flickr mentioned, there is no fool-proof way of preventing photo theft, apart from not uploading the photo at all T______T
I suppose the trick is to keep it as simple as you can, like most of the sifus are doing here nod.gif
Can try downloading some better and nicer fonts to stand out too~
Personally, I'd advice not to use the word "Photography" as a watermark until you are really pro haha, cause once you put that word in, expectations (and even hostility) towards you will increase T____T

Yeah, Lightroom can do bulk watermark, but afaik, they are all placed at the same exact location, so it might be a pain if the watermark doesn't blend too well with the background hmm.gif
Thank you bro notworthy.gif
Just fooling around with the designs la haha
*
i still thinking a new watermark ... unsure.gif

Most of the pro photographers out there just put their website on the bottom of the shot in a small size as watermark tongue.gif

i don't see why people need to make watermark with some complicated design and colorful.
*
i only put white... hmm.gif
older older design more colourful, puke rainbow level that time i use CMYK as base colour unsure.gif

last year design one laugh.gif doh.gif
