Don't worry, you will get the hang of it quickly. When I moved on from D90 --> D700, it was pretty quick within the day itself. D700 --> D800 even easier

This is my 1st ever DSLR, the ISO-Aperture-Exposure relationship still very blur. Already read alot of 'theory', need practice now.

Actually next month 8th will be my wedding day, i asked around those professional photographer all needs 3-4k for full day photo shooting.   Actually i just want to shoot and record video for my own memory only, not intended to make any professional album or video. Thinking i don have the DSLR, so better spend the money to get one, so later go honey moon or travel also can take the nice photo.

So myself have to get use of this within 1 month before i can teach my camera men on that day, my older bro.  

Well, if the DF is small, then its alright.

Problem is, talking about size, it is not that small, almost the same size with the d610, hence a lot bigger than the d3200. People who looking for portability won't consider this camera imo, and since it is FF, the lenses will be big also.

The funny thing I found is, when Sony introduced the A7, so many people bashed it for having a compact body with big lenses and it's a pointless product.

Okay, now Nikon did almost the same thing. The DF is a SLR, the A7 is a mirrorless, so actually they can't be compared. But, since a lot of people thought that they are aimed to the same type of consumer (those who wanted great IQ in a small package), they will be compared together at the end.

Talking about the size, the DF is larger than the A7 by quite a lot, same to the weight. People might say it is good because it can used with Ai lenses and all present Nikon lenses. There's one thing that people didn't see on the A7, with Metabones adapter, it can use Canon and Nikon lenses also, and still retaining autofocus (just that it is slower than Zeiss on the camera).

Next point, the price. As you all can see, the DF is so damn overpriced, costing almost the same as the d800.  The technology inside is worse than the d800, some even worse than the d610. The only thing that's good is the D4 sensor, nothing else.

i can't understand why so many people praising the camera, there's really nothing good about it imo, other than the retro looks (well only the front and top, the rear is still a nikon DSLR). some people said it's a mini D4, well other than the same sensor, there isn't anything same.

I am a Canon user so i don't really care about the DF, but I jsut cant understand the fame it gets.

For your wedding, as a quick tip:
Ask your brother (assuming he is also new to photography) to shoot in Aperture mode, and shoot RAW:

Outdoors: ISO500-640
Indoors (no sunlight): ISO1600

The photos should turn out good enough, and noneed to worry too much about settings haha~
If you ever need it, I'm sure the sifus here can help you touch up and edit some of your few selected photos to make them more "magical". Just make sure they are in RAW haha

You sure 2.5k? That's the old AF-D tank right? The 2nd hand AF-S version is close to 3k plus.
I agree. People nowadays treat camera bodies like mobile phones.
Congrats on your coming wedding. Not many people think like you. Most people would insist on spending a bomb for wedding preparations. As long as you know what to expect at the end of the day, that's fine. Stick with your budget.
I think those examples there were taken by a cheap PnS. Nowadays mobile phone quality is even better.

I certainly understood D3200 is not a godlike camera, else all the Nikon experts here will feel butt hurt adi.   In fact is just a entry level DSLR.

Me and my wife expectation level: For her, even our own Panasonic Lumix Compact Cam adi feel satisfy, is true. But i'm the one who is not satisfy with that, especuially in low light condition without using flash, that's why i decide to buy a DSLR. I believe even it just a entry level model, it 'should be' better than compact cam, isn't it? The photo and video shoot is just for our own collection, not even will publish to facebook etc. That's our 'expectation'.

As jchue73 had mentioned, even a decent phone camera shoot better than the pic in the link that you gave, which i strongly believe.

So to get those professional photo quality as those profession by my D3200 and by my bro, i understood is some how quite impossible, at least for the time being. We both already know that very well.

Now what i worry is the in door low lighting performance, if really i can't master that, i will put an external flash unit for that, at least better and more secure than not using any flash or using pop up flash, do you agree?
