My Jazz GK5 V spec always has the brake squeaking sound in the morning. After warming up the brake, the sound is gone. I google for the root cause and found out due to rust build up on the disc plate or drum surface.
Does your GK5 has such problem? How to remedy this nuisance? |

Since you say it's the cause of the brake dust, perhaps you can use a less powerful jet spray and spray the dish brakes. Of course do this when the discs are cool like in the morning before you move your car.Does your GK5 has such problem? How to remedy this nuisance? |

I google for the root cause and found out due to rust build up on the disc plate or drum surface. Rusts usually does not cause squeaking sound. More like rough sounds when the brake is used for a very short while .Usually the rust sound goes as soon as you dab the brakes when you move. Does your GK5 has such problem? How to remedy this nuisance? You park under an exposed spot a lot? Usually only rain or water will cause it to rust, it should not rust for no reasons. High carbon steel rotors will help but only to a certain extend. |

QUOTE(farghmee @ Sep 24 2016, 05:13 PM) Yup, I think the wise decision is to send to SC n check the electronic. Best to get them to check the issue. EPS should not be related to the radio is any way even though the GK dash depends a lot on CANBUS. The GE8 to a much lesser extend.Updates: It still happening today. Switched on the engine, engine was running. But the radio switched off-on multiple times. The steering icon appeared during the on-off interval. Huh the 100k km warranty going to finish in two months time. I read in the net that last time some Fit got issue with EPS. The EPS stack and the radio uses a different fuse panel. If the radio cuts out, it should be the fuse panel under the dash. The EPS fuses are usually in the engine bay close by to the ECU. But, if the fuse is gone. The EPS in theory should not be functioning as it is not hydraulically assisted. Best to leave it to the service center. |

Kinda normal if that is the case where your rotors develop rust. The issue is the rust build on disc rotor/drum surface. A few braking to remove the dust, then no more squeaking. The only difference is mine doesn't squeak though. It just sounds a bit like stone grinding for a short (1 or 2 seconds) while on the initial application of brakes while the car is moving and then it is gone immediately as the rusts gets scrubbed off by the pads. I think nothing to worry about. |

QUOTE(AyamBannedTwice @ Oct 8 2016, 12:04 PM) you mean if you let the engine run and then take the key with you?from my experience, it gives loud warning beep, sensing the key is not in or nearby the car. Not sure if I try to drive away the car with that condition, probably the immobilizer will kick in and turned off the engine. |

QUOTE(RevolutionWorks @ Oct 9 2016, 07:59 PM) you mean if you let the engine run and then take the key with you? Yerp. That's what i mean. Because i saw accord and hrv can do that, but i tried with my jazz, not workingfrom my experience, it gives loud warning beep, sensing the key is not in or nearby the car. Not sure if I try to drive away the car with that condition, probably the immobilizer will kick in and turned off the engine. Don't know if there's any trick for it |

QUOTE(AyamBannedTwice @ Oct 8 2016, 12:04 PM) It does not. It will keep on driving until you shut it off.It is dangerous to suddenly kill the engine if the key in not there as there is a lot of auxiliary stuff that depends on the engine running in order to work. Brake assist for example. Without the engine running, the brakes will be hard to apply after 1 or 2 pumps. So, there is no reason to kill the engine when the key left the car. It is just too dangerous. An audible sound is the only thing the car can do and if someone can ignore the sound all the way. Champion! |
