Hi all
wanted to check with all the experts here regarding TM Unifi. I just had Unifi installed at my place last week but the WiFi signal is very weak, especially upstairs. The "router" or "residential gateway" they gave me is some brand called InnaTech RG4332. I was wondering if I can swap out this router for something else like an Apple Extreme or a TP Link or whatever. Can someone please let me know if this is possible and is it very troublesome to re-config everything? I'm not that IT savvy Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Dec 21 2013, 12:52 PM) After calling the customer service it's not possible for VIP 10 customer to get this special promo without upgrading to VIP 20 package. Nice. Seriously TM should think of something to handle this rather than the long way of downgrading then upgrading again. Well I think if you just subscribe as new subscriber, then you terminate your old account. You would also get new equipment for free. So i downgraded to VIP 5. Since my 24 months contract already up i don't have to pay anything, instead just refresh it for another 24 months. Then i made another call and upgraded to VIP 10 + Mega Pack promo (RM199). All of these are done in less than 24 hours. I saved RM30 each month, got the Mega Pack channels and TM got myself commit for another 2 years. Win-win situation for all. Special thanks to all TM Unifi customer service personnel that helped me through this as well. In my years of dealing with any organization, I got to say Unifi have one of the best customer service in the business. |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Dec 24 2013, 09:38 AM) Cos my old bill was VIP10 (RM199) + Platinum Pack (RM30) so the total is RM229. But comparing package by package, you're correct this promo pack saves RM50.Few days ago I saw my friend who's still under VIP5 24 months contract recently upgraded to this very pack, got me thinking "why me, as a long time customer should pay more for an inferior package?". That was the moment I thought I gotta sign-up for this promo pack no matter what. Luckily my old contract was up just in time, so I didn't have to pay any penalty for the downgrading process. |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Dec 24 2013, 10:01 AM) Same with me (beside reducing the bill). To me it's worth it since I am fan of old Chinese / Hong Kong film and drama. The Western channels are nice too, (admittedly I have no clue about 90% of the programs). |

Nowadays almost everything must be dealt through their customer care line. Just give them a call and they will send their technicians to investigate. You can also ask if you're going to be charged for new equipment. or not. |

Try to change DNS from the webUI is not possible. Some information from google that it was manufactured by Shenzhen Gongjin Electronics It is the same look as Innatech W7100N with less configuration to admin account. Going to use this one for a while and soon to change to ASUS too. This default hardware is not supoorting QoS at all. |
