Nope not working i dont know why ...is my cable connection not right?

Your connection is correct. But can you check if your network adapter (on PC or laptop) connected to the router has an IP address? Is it in the 192.168.1.x range? What is the Default Gateway?

How to check default gateway? Please advice.
*
Open your Command Prompt, type ipconfig then Press Enter.

In the output, look for the one under something called "Ethernet adapter". What is listed for IPv4 address, subnet mask & default gateway?

seems like your router IP has been changed to 192.168.0.1. Can you now try access http://192.168.0.1 and log in with admin/admin? IF still cannot I guess you gotta do a hard reset on the router.

*
There you go. If you are trying to configure this TP-Link, then you need connect your PC directly to the TP-Link (do NOT use Port 1, use Port 2, 3 or 4) to configure it at http://192.168.1.1

Can you show me with image where to connect? I am confused and lost here.
*
Using my attached image below as a reference, the blue cable connects to your Fiber ONU while the yellow one connects to your computer/laptop.

Notice that the yellow-colored ports are labeled 4, 3, 2, 1. You can use 4, 3 & 2. Do NOT use 1. Port 1 is for IPTV.

Your problem looks weird.

1) Can you explain here what exactly you did from the moment you unboxed this router until you could not use it?

2) Does your router came inside a box that has a label "works with UniFi" or something similar?

3) Did you ever flashed the router firmware?

Yes this router i have flashed before http://klseet.com/index.php/tp-link/tp-link-tl-wr841n . But i am unable to connect using this modem.

I am not sure why not able to connect since Tm have changed my modem and upgrade to 10mb.
*
Well, I guess this is where the problem comes. You bought this router not too long ago right? It should already work with UniFi and you should NOT flashed it. The flashing is to be done only if you are using an older version of this router that does not have UniFi support. Now it looks like the firmware is probably not compatible with your router (v7.2).

I am not sure if hard-resetting can help. In any case, read & try either one of the two methods described here: http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?id=82

Then connect back, check the default gateway, then try access that IP address of the default gateway on your browser to see if you can go in or not.

If it does not work, guess you probably want to try if you can claim warranty.

Sigh. This router cant be used anymore which router u recommend that can play IPTV?

Dont think so this router has warranty its about almost 3 years i have purchased it.

After hard reset do i need to flash it again?

I am able to login now to http://192.168.1.1/ after did hard reset. What shall i do next?
*
Three years, probably it's a version you need to flash. But before you do any flashing, go to the Network > WAN page. Do you have something similar (Normal mode, UniFi mode) as shown in the attachment below?

About other routers, you can buy the latest TL-WR841ND (hardware v8.x, firmware comes with UniFi support), OR can consider many other newer models like TL-WR4300 (make sure the box indicated that it has UniFi support)

This is the screenshot.

If i flash will i be able to used IPTV
*
Ah, this one does NOT support UniFi.

If you still want to attempt to flash, please download the firmware from TP-Link website. And yes, it supports IPTV.

Go here: http://www.tp-link.com.my/support/download...41ND&version=V7

Make sure you download the first firmware listed there, labelled as TL-WR841ND_v7_120221_MY

After download? Do i need to go got KL seet website to flash?

After flash will it guarantee work? I dont have the password for unifi?
*
You can follow the instructions similar to KL seet website to flash, but like stated there, do it at your own risk.

After flashing & reboot, this firmware will be a little different than what is shown in KLSeet as you will need to select "UniFi Mode" like what I shown you earlier.

And of course you need the UniFi username & password. Either the installer gave you a printout with the details, if not, you gotta call TM UniFi Centre and request for it.

No, I didn't. From what I know, IPTV is not supported if you do so.

Correct me if I am wrong.

You cannot replace the modem. It is provided by TM with a lifetime support and must be returned when you terminate service.

ok some say can some say cant dont know which is right...Ur modem that u are using is provided by telekom?
*
Yes, as stated in my previous post reply.

But my modem is different as I stay in a high-rise, so using VDSL2 (copper wire) instead of fibre - using a ZTE modem. I used to be given a problematic VDSL2 modem from Huawei (overheating problem, unstable line) but later models resolved it - I had a few replaced every few weeks until finally they replaced with the ZTE one.

Even those subscribing to Maxis Fiber will get the same few models provided by TM - TM technicians will configure the modem while Maxis technicians configure the router.

Is my modem provided by tm has problems?

ok are u happy with the TP link router or looking of getting better want?
*
I am not sure about the modem you are using, since I am using a completely different type, i.e. VDSL2 (phone cable) instead of fibre.

For the TP-Link router, yes, satisfied with it. I actually have 3 units of the WR841ND and 1 unit of WR4300.

Currently for my UniFi connection, I am using the WR4300 as the main router, and a WR841ND (LAN to LAN connection) to extend my wireless (I have serious wireless issues due to too many access points by neighbors!)

One more WR841ND I am using it with 4Mbps Streamyx at my kampung & it works very well there, even wireless due to very few neighboring access points.

And of course one more 841ND is a spare unit.

i want to extend my wireless do i need another router?
*
You can either use a wireless access point, a wireless extender, or simply use another wireless router.

In the case of wireless extender, it is a device that picks up wireless signal from an existing wireless AP/router and retransmit it. This requires no wires except for the wire that powers the device.

In the case of wireless access point (AP), you need to connect Ethernet (LAN) cable from the main router to the AP.

However, Wireless AP cost rather expensive compared to the price of a wireless router, hence, you can actually use a wireless router as if it's a wireless AP. To do so, you need to connect the LAN port from the main router to one of the LAN port of the other wireless router. You also need to DISABLE DHCP & uPnP on this other router you intend to use to extend it.

Sure you can. Doesn't matter if they are the same brand/model or not.
