if u get a good balance between treble and bass. the sound is nice to me, i dont know why a lot of ppl dont like this speakers, personally, i prefer this than m3300

and maybe to u the bass is blury but not to all...i see my fren really like the bass...so it depends on the listener.....

I have 2 admit that some of u like it, but it is too much for me. I don meant it is lousy but it is the part tat needed to be improved compare to other part, don get me wrong.

im VS4212 user here. dunno if other speaker is good or not, but its atleast better than my previous speaker (old Harman Kardon speaker)

really an Altec fan i would say...

ur speaker must be 1st gen ATP3...good speaker u have there. its much more better than the newly manufactured ATP3 in the market now.....

I am using Altec Lansing MX5021.

This speaker need a perfect match from sound card and media player in order to squeeze the THX certified bass. The frequency response of a woofer unit is mainly at between 35-50Hz, (this can tested by using SONY SOUND FORGE)....which people call "deep bass". Equalizer of many media player today can adjust as low as 63Hz only, so a good quality sound card which can adjust 30-50Hz is needed if you love those"deep bass".

For the midrange and high, the satellites are produce excess loudness between 3-8Khz(both bass and treble set to flat), it can hurt ur ears when listening to the songs which rich in electronic guitar(like songs from linkin park), but it still can be control by using the equalizer, just set those slider 3~5dB below the default will make the satellite sound better...nevertheless, i still thought it is a good speaker because it sound still can be control by the user.....

I agree that becos i am using first generation of ATP3.If later pc fair u goto the stall n compare urself u will find the differrent.
