They laughed at us last night...

Someone said our fans left early.yesterday ..at 88min... ini fans leave at 50mins tak cakap pun?
*
Nah.... couldn't care less about this kind of people thinking. wink.gif

Anyway from the look of it, this season PL gonna be tight among the top 5 or top 6. In order for us to mount any serious challenge for a top 4, we really need to take more initiative and attack the opponent. I couldn't bear to see us repeat another dismay performance and lose our footing even further.

*Just found out that Sunderland sacked Di Canio. Damn! Just when I thought we can inflict more damage to a wounded team.

too bad borini cant play against us, else he'll probably score a goal.
tho dossena may just be back in time from injury biggrin.gif

sunderland sacking di canio may just be the best thing to happen to them, especially with the players at their disposal...
or maybe its the players that undermined di canio to get him sacked.

perhaps we'll see sunderland get their first win of the season this weekend tongue.gif

First San Siro win for Napoli in 27 years. They started well, lightning quick build up and scored at the 6th minute. I always found Higuain unimpressive at Real, but he seems a different player at Napoli. He's actually quite fast. And the way he surged into Milan's half , bypassing his own midfielders and bringing the ball towards the goal at pace was amazing. Never knew he had that in him. Pepe did well too, Balotelli must had been really annoyed haha.

I suppose it's another defeat at OT.
We have lost ALL of our encounters there since winning 4-1.
I hope we rest key players for sunderland as league is more important.I rather we go out of mickey mouse cup lest it is used as an excuse of "progress".Our squad cant cope with too many games as well at this point.

Just put all the youngsters + Suarez + Mignolet in the League Cup match. If progress, it's a bonus. If not, well for me doesn't really matter cause I never liked this competition anyway. Would be nice to sneak a win at OT though..

I reckon BR is taking this Capital One seriously and will put up his strongest 11.

Mignolet, Enrique, Sakho, Skrtel, Toure, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Moses/Sterling, Suarez & Sturridge.

Rightly so, Mickey Mouse Cup is meant for the reserve players and benchwarmers in the first place. Not saying it's not an important silverware despite its namesake but senior squad members should concentrate more on FA cup.

Well, when Man United is thrown into the mix, things get a LITTTTTTLE complicated. It's no longer a fight for silverware, more like a fight for bragging rights. For I all know, this bragging right of beating Man U is akin to winning Champion Leagues for some Liverpool fans. biggrin.gif

All in all, i agree with you. BR needs to prioritize. Play your second squad and concentrate on the league.

Yeah mickey cup is near pointless but i think we may underestimate the psychological impact from this kind of match. Both teams do not want to lose 2 games on the trot and will be looking to rebound. We don't have to put a strong team and i don't think BR will. I reckon it will be a good mixture of youth and experience. You don't want to put a young team and get them demolished - that would be a terrible management. Winning this match will give much self belief to our youth and the senior players will bring this confidence into the next match.

After always beating MU (at Anfield usually), I don't really care about the game as much anymore.

I mean its always a great delight to beat them, but whats the point if we finish 6-8th?

Agreed, plus the psychological impact on a team already reeling from two losses to rivals (a good thrashing one of them was) would be tremendous

I actually rate Higuain.
He didn't look good at Real because was overshadowed by Ronaldo.
Most time he gotta play, he did good. Always available and in the right place as a predator.

Doubt Sturridge or Stevie will start.

They looked out on their feet vs Soton. No way Stevie can play two in a week.

Agreed. We shouldn't look at it as an obstacle but rather an opportunity.

I only saw glimpses to be honest but then again i never really followed Real. One week it was Benzema and the next Higuain. But seems like a really good striker.

He is a good player.

The way he gets himself into good positions as a good poacher should, both for Real and Argie.

And his finishing aint too shabby either

I think this should probably be used as an avenue to get players like Alberto, Ibe, Sterling, Wisdom and Ilori more exposure. And of course Suarez.

What about Aspas? He should play because this is going to be the frequent games he's getting. biggrin.gif
