Just read this article, doesn't seem to carry a lot of weight but can you imagine us being renamed to "The Liverpool Red Bulls" or our stadium to "The Red Bulls Anfield". *Shudders*

http://futbolpulse.com/2013/10/16/energy-d...er-league-club/

To quote someone from another forum:
QUOTE
SV Austria Salzburg were a relatively successful side competing in the Austrian Bundesliga and had reasonable success in Europe, finishing as runners-up to Inter Milan in the 1994 UEFA Cup final. However the rich history of the club was ripped from the supporters in 2005 when the club was acquired by Red Bull.
The club's violet and white colors were removed instantaneously and replaced with Red Bull's corporate branded red and white colors.
The new owners successfully applied for a name change. SV Austria Salzburg were no more and from 2005 onwards have been known as Red Bull Salzburg. In response to criticism from the supporters, the new owners responded with a complete lack of respect for the clubs loyal followers and released the following statement.
“This is a new club with no history.”
Years of history and tradition instantly destroyed. If that wasn’t bad enough the entire management team were removed and replaced with new staff at the wish of the Red Bull corporation.

“This is a new club with no history.” Well, the ex-owners (SV Austria Salzburg) cashed out. whatever the reasons may be, they (new owners) saw the opportunity to rebrand.

dont think it will happen to us. Red Bull anfield? i really don't know. i cannot deny the marketing aspects of today football. Well, gunners have 'Emirates Stadium'. As much as it doesn't sound quite right...as i said.

in truth, I highly doubt it will happen. anyway we aren't building a new stadium, just expanding/redeveloping the current stadium at anfield.

Liverpool U21 5 Tottenham 0 U21
- Freaking Awesome
- Watch Out 4 This 4
@ Brad Smith (England U16s LB - So good attacking we now played him as attacking RWF)
@ Ryan McLaughlin (Northern Ireland U21s RB - So good in attack..we now played him as attacking LWF)
- One word..No Glen Johnson..No Problem. GJ Mark 2. No Joke.
- Compose as a Right Back. Attack as well as Glen. Comparable with Kyle Walker
- Much more a ready all around starter compare to Flanagan/Wisdom
(Will attached an article. Please Read)
@ Cameron Brannagan
- Cameron Brannagan has been at the Academy since he was U9 level. T
- he youngster likes to take up a position just behind the frontman.
- A flexible talent, Brannagan can also operate on either wing.
- A creative and inventive midfielder, Brannagan has the ability to fashion opportunities for his teammates as well take them himself.

Thought he had a good game against AS Roma last pre-season, and he has been brilliant in the reserves as well.
Hope he'll make the breakthrough soon.

He might face extreme difficulty though in getting into first team if BR really do sign a new RB as suggested by the journalist next Jan/summer.

we've been linked with hundreds of players in every transfer window.  tongue.gif

Yeah, haha. But the players we're linked with now are of different categories compared to previous seasons.
I do understand its only rumours but somehow I felt we are heading into the right direction if our transfer committee really do short lists these players. Mostly talented

Glad that we are back to football business after all that fracas, which was, hey, dont dismiss entertaining, although disturbing. LOL.

Let's focus on Burung Murai. Mr Dew Da Pardew wants a revenge against our arguably best line up since the start of the season.

I want to see Glen Johnson straight back in but we gotta sacrifice Kolo or Sakho. I hate to see that.

With Johnson back, we have an added bite upfront. I favor a 3-1 result going our way with SAS of course nicking in the important goals.

I favor our captain to get one as well, looking at his record against the Murai, which is excellent.

Remember, it is 7.45pm tomorrow.

With SAS on fire and Coloccini out injured, I'm surprised Pardew came out with such statement.

Btw, Aspas has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a torn thigh muscle.

Lucas Leiva: I can't see myself playing for another team than Liverpool

Wonderful lad. Hope he rediscover his best form.
He's the only player who my gf is able to recognise apart from Gerrard tongue.gif

Good for him. Aspas can now focus on pen and paper. Watch on sideline and see how Dannyboy and Luis do the job and write some notes down. I would imagine something like this:

Aspas's important notes for the day:

Glen always make overlapping run.
Ideas: A) Slip the ball through the legs of opponents to Glen for him to cut in. B) Pretend to make a pass to Glen but end up taking the ball to the left and burst through. C) Backheel to Gerrard and join Glen in bursting forward thumbup.gif

BTW, dew means f**k (in cantonese). Par means afraid. So Pardew means? He's afraid of getting f**ked by his own fans if they get trashed again. biggrin.gif

Well, if Red Bull are serious and able to cough up the cash to takeover from FSG, we have an entirely different scenario here.

u mean Dr Iqbal???? tongue.gif

I doubt Glen will start as 1st 11, probably as a sub. if he play, we don't need to sacrifice Sakho or Toro cos he will play as RWB. last time we used Sterling. it will be a huge boost in term of attacking and defending on the right side if Glen can play...

Aspas is not available for 5 weeks..but I think he doesn't make a difference as of now..

not the LFC type of player...runs a lot but less ball possession...so far he is a failure blush.gif

Lucas and Jose Enrique have not travelled and will miss the match against Newcastle.

Lucas' wife went into labour and apparently, Enrique had a small operation during the break.

So, Hendo will continue his DM role for us and Glen might be back.

Then we will get to see Cissokho and Glen. Wonder what is the formation for this one.
