You know i've been playing fm13 a lot lately and i notice the 352, while a solid formation, is not very friendly to wide players. You can still somewhat cheat by man marking players but in reality, some players like wingers can't be tasked to play as wingbacks.

Once we have Countinho and the wingbacks up and running, what's going to happen to the likes of Sterling, Ibe and Moses ? I think the 352 is a great formation for clubs operating under strict budget as you have only 2 wide players instead of 4, giving your more room to expand other areas on the pitch. Perhaps it's one of the reasons why it's not a popular formation among top tiered clubs.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has announced his retirement from football.

He said: “There have been some press reports about whether I’m still playing or available but I decided a little while ago I would retire, I just didn’t make it official.

“So now I’m officially retiring because I’m sick of having conversations about it and almost stringing people along. I decided three or four weeks ago I was done, and this [live on the Colin Murray show] is the best place to do it.

“This is me, 20 years, I’m done. I’ve had a wonderful career and can look back on it with fondness.”

I will always remember the goals against MU and Everton. Thanks Danny thumbup.gif

Although I gotta say, I am still confused by Danny's departure. One week he's in friendly matches and Rafa said he's an intelligent player. Next week, the headline reads: Angry Murph in Kop chop.

How Bizarre!

Some interesting stats,

After 25 games for Liverpool, Sturridge has 19 goals. Fernando Torres had scored 17, while Robbie Fowler and Roger Hunt, 16 each.

well sturridge was also the first player since the 70s to score in his first 3 games.
wouldnt be surprised if he broke more records later.

come to think of it, i still remember Mikeyshasimi and Duke was skeptical about signing him.

Mikey actually said no to signing Dannyboy and Duke was not too sure.

Fuhhhh...luckily we sign him and Couts. What a steal.

but then again, it was still a gamble but well paid off.

LOL. I simply couldnt understand why Chelsea didnt give him much chance.

Even the fans knew they let go of a gem and was furious with getting only 12mil for him. what a steal. I bet now they must be knocking their head against the mirror each time they think about it.

But then again, every signing is always a gamble. I am just glad it paid off well for us.

And then Couts, the Director of Inter couldnt wait to get rid of him and fund the move for Paulinho which eventually didnt materialise for them.

Goodness. What were they thinking? They shouldnt read too much of C28's post-match comments or else they will let go of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, etc soon. LOL biggrin.gif

His Bolton record got me impressed. I was so excited to see him coming and proving himself.

But then he came at a time when all our other England fellas didnt do well. So cant blame people from being skeptical about another England flop.

I remember I read an angry comment in the official website about the signing of Dannyboy which says "Cant perform for Chelsea, not qualified for the bench at England, you think he will do well for Liverpool? What were you thinking Brendan Rodgers? #BR_out."

This guy must be smacking himself on the face with his pillow everyday in enjoyment and regretting what he commented. tongue.gif

that's why if the 99% of the decision of signing players were left to fans, we will be doing Real Madrid. Signing players for premium price.

Wow you must really hate C28 or something haha. Poor fella haven't posted lately and his name still gets mentioned lol. Anyway i think Abramovich pretty much run the show at Chelsea. Pretty sure the managers he signed has a clause in their contract; Must play striker y for x amount of games with min z number of goals. Failure will result to us sacking your asssss. They only ever had one prolific striker and that was the monstrous Drogba - lord of the jungle tongue.gif

Hate? NO! biggrin.gif We always have this banter of teasing each other tongue.gif

If you analyse the millions he spent out of 10 years (billions or millions? I lost count), and getting only 3 EPL, 1 UCL with no Arabs back then until 2008, that's pretty poor ROI. Football fan like Roman should never make decision because it's always emotional.

Haha yeah. He used to envy Liverpool. I remember reading an article few years back where he wasn't happy with just winning things. Chelsea won few cups but that wasn't enough. He wanted his team to have an identity and he even compared his team to Rafa's Liverpool and how he wanted that kind of character in his team. Unfortunately, money can't buy passion and history.

really dunno what the chelsea fans going on about...
he joined chelsea when he was 20...and they expect him to perform miracles already.
plus he wasnt given that many chances to start.
his stats for his last full season in the PL with chelsea isnt too shabby...28 starts 11 goals...shows hes slowly hitting his peak.

Patience never existed in Chelsea. That's why they call for heads every season. How many managers and players that went out so far tells the story.

I believe this is really wrong and that's why some commentators said, Football gone mad with moneyman in charge. A winning manager will have his off form season. Ancelloti won 1 EPL and then next season got fired. Goodness.

If Roman bought MU instead of Chelsea, I believe he would have fired SAF. That's how dumb that guy is.
