Uploaded some test video today. Video shows the smooth focusing of details as well as hand-held panning, still ok for shaky hands like mine

QUOTE(TongCN @ Oct 7 2013, 11:13 PM) From minimallyminimal.com -If you’re thinking about getting one, don’t. The case relies on two tiny contact pins to mate with the phone and it's problematic. I’ve had multiple times when this alignment was a fraction of a millimeter off and the phone wouldn't charge. It also adds a significant amount of thickness to the phone and I don’t think it’s worth it for what is a small convenience gain. I returned it after a day of use. |

There is a nifty Audio Base Filter setting for video - if you want to filter out noises, choose Strong, or OFF to capture all sounds like the wind, birds, grass sounds in my previous video. Default is moderate, optimal balanced for most video.

I think any hard case and non-tpu like soft case (like the camera grip and wireless charging back cover) will wear the matte finish because of movement and no cushioning. inserting or taking out the crazy tight camera grip alone will scratch the phone. i wished the case was soft like 808 ori case. that's why im using the cheap rm20 tpu case atm...
btw, 1020 is good for espionage » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by hox: Oct 9 2013, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(monocle @ Oct 10 2013, 11:33 PM) glad it was helpful to you..but do explore and experiment with the manual shutter speed for start, a killer feature (for a smartphone) to do all kinda cool photography stuffs with your 1020 This post has been edited by hox: Oct 10 2013, 11:47 PM |

QUOTE(monocle @ Oct 10 2013, 11:51 PM) I went to nokia store and molested the phone for about 20 mins.. but i did not buy.. i'm also a heavy google users, activesync works fine so far via outlook account. What concerns me is i'm a heavy google user. Calenders, contacts, google drive, gmail etc. Whatsapp and fb chats a lot.. Still reading up to prepare myself.. but if photography is not your primary use or priority, i think it is better to get an Android like the upcoming Nexus 5. your google apps experience will not be as good with WP (eg. missing Google Analytics app, etc) get 1020 if you treasure hires photos for your library and wanted to tryout a new OS, fatigue with years of iOS/Android like me |

QUOTE(monocle @ Oct 11 2013, 12:02 AM) personally, i have zero desire for 925 because i dont like the odd Xperia-like hardware design and much less capable camera than 1020. i might as well get an Android or even 920 for the nicer design. |

QUOTE(PVCpipe @ Oct 12 2013, 04:59 AM) question.. in certain challenging light conditions, where 1020 unable to lock focus correctly even after tap focus or/and after assist light is on, you can use manual focus. For example in dark landscape shot, you might want to manually set infinity focus for best sharpness or for tricky closeup shot (animal in cage for example), you can use manual focus to get the animal accurately sharp when tapping to focus fails. is there any differences between manual focus, and tapping on the screen to focus when take pic? for normal conditions, tap to focus is faster and should be use over manual focus. Same apply for video. |
