1. go to apps.windowsstore.com
2. Create an account with your MS credentials
3. Download the Preview app for your phone
4. Run the app and follow screen instructions.
5. Once done, goto Settings > Phone updates. Check for updates.
6. Download and install GDR3 update. Enjoy!

I have a question tongue.gif
It's just a preview not the real final version right.
So when the final version is out will we be able to download it without problem?
No flash, no loss of data right?
*
This is the final release version of GDR3 (not preview) for carriers and developers for testing and eventually releases it to the official channel together with Bittersweet shimmer in coming months.

This update only includes the OS update, not device specific firmware, so u will keep your current firmware and will not lose it. You will also continue to receive the official update (and firmware) when they become publicly available, so there is no missing out of features, nor will you ever be behind.

If you are lazy like me, I just update straightaway without backup (STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED AS I HAVE NO CRITICAL STUFFS ON PHONE), and everything is still intact after the update

"A more interesting change comes in the Cellular page of the settings, which offers you the ability to limit the background data (live tile updates, toast notifications, etc.) when you're on a mobile network or when you're roaming. "

GDR2 was quite fast like 2 or 3 weeks late compared to North America.
But Portico the oldest update was the longest wait ever until I flashed mine.
It took around 4-5 months if I remember correctly.
*
4-5 months?? blink.gif

Hello guys. Just bought 1020.

One question about the OneShot app.. Is it worth to buy it or the Pro Cam app is enough for 1020?

I've seen the app (OneShot) has been recommended by many reviewers. Just askin. Thank You.
*
worth it, awesome app fully utilizing the camera SDK, i use it with 6tag smile.gif

but do fully test out the pro cam first as it's better if you want 36/38MP photos....

I do need your feedback guys. What's your average battery life for 1 day usage? Does it last for more than 1 day or how?

Because I do have problem back then when I'm using Lumia 800. I hope i dont have any problem with my 1020. And for me, if the battery can hold for 1 day, its good enough.

*This is my 1st full day using 1020. Hehe.
*
based on gsmareana, endurance rating for Lumia 800 is 35hrs while 1020 is 61hrs..so should be drastically longer

yes OTA, user data and settings are not touch but as always backup if you got important stuff on your phone, you never know your phone might be stuck in the dreaded spinning cog
