I think it will depreciate even faster if lack of support. And then there is the 1520 coming soon so the price might drop by then, and then Nokia no longer doing the phone business, so might lower price to move slow stocks?
*
Of course there will be support, this time under Microsoft directly rather than Nokia. Microsoft purchased Nokia's entire phone division including product design, manufacturing, sales and retail. In fact they will also continue to support Symbian devices for another 1-2 years.

Guess not a lot of people getting this phone compared to 920.
I was hoping to upgrade if the price was 2k but since it's 2.5k, I think i'll wait for a price drop.
I don't really care about sell value as I keep all phones anyway, so no point there.

The best part about this phone is the 41 megapixel which is their unique selling proposition.
No such phones has this much megapixel and not even my 5D Mark 2 which is 8k, a dslr without lens, could beat the amount of pixels it has at a nice price.
A compact size 'dslr' is really nice and without a doubt very awesome.

In Malaysia, everybody will go crazy when Note or S series launch the next model..
They don't bother about specs, do they even use the functions, as long as it is a Samsung..

Nice Price? You could get the Nokia 808 PureView which has slightly larger sensor and similar 41MP (and better performance due to dedicated image processor) at RM1899 launch price. Sometime earlier this year, there was deals for RM999.

Nonetheless, it could never compare with a DSLR even if you shoot at lowest ISO settings under bright daylight (if you actually check the details).

Back then, as long as it's Nokia lolz
The customer just 'switch' to Samseng thanks to Nokia which does not offer alternatives/choice for the users.

But before you say that do you know why?

With android u have choice to choose which feature you want to use or not.

On windows phone you dont even have a choice they tell you what you should need and charge you higher than everybody.

Its alright for fanboy worship it but at least make it clear why you worship it.

Many of us are nokia users please think why most switch. Nokia spec since symbian always the lowest android start with 1ghz nokia still 480mhz to 600mhz. When android go to dual core nokia still 680mhz I was there my nokia n8 and nokia c7 and x7 was there. I remember leo the lion show me his brand new samsung galaxy S2 .We told nokia so many times the OS is unstable and lag due to spec even ram is ridiculously low.

When android comes quad core nokia still 1ghz. Only nokia lumia 920 is dual core. Keep telling user you dont need high spec.

Talk about spec nokia killed their OS

1st they kill meego
2nd kill symbian

Now windows phone will it get killed nobody knows

While android 1.0 to now 4.3 still upgrading

Apple from first ios now ios 7

Many ppl tried to give windows phone a try but end up tons of limitation and disappointments. I recommended 3 lumia to my friends all end up complaining to me. Even my own lumia suddenly died cant turn on.

If you follow nokia trend you watch them kill themselves stage by stage from most successful until they sold off the company. Even that time I was using skype on windows phone .It keep crashing when I initiative a voice call. Then got WhatsApp problem and etc its endless that why ppl switch.

The friends I recommend nokia lumia they complaint is after switch to android complaint stops.

Even my buddy that first phone is nokia until last year nokia also gave up and switch to iPhone 5.

I am just sharing the history we been with nokia products and not for fanboy to show off they support brand blindly okay.

The downfall of nokia is cause by them and not the users.

Android does lag but since jellybean heck its smooth and real time multitasking unlike windows phone u cant and it still lags. Wtf

No thanks. Does it have WP8? Nope.
Good to point out but I already have one.

That is not the real way to compare anyway, I know somone would shoot me down with my statement the biggest different is the bigger sensor and ISO is really not the main factor for me. Details...hah. Still about the sensor dude

I know. I know and I know.
I grew tired of your continuous voicing of Windows Phone Limitation and others. I truly understand that you have every right to voice and inform others.

You are very correct over the limitation.
If you wish express your regret and embarrassment using WP and introduce it to others, kindly express it in a understandable way so others whoever wish to get into WP bandwagon understand the risks, pro and cons.

I have been with WP since Mozart and then now Lumia 620. Windows Phone serve me alright. I am happy with it so far. Yes, sometimes I get tired of slow updates and some of the basic features. Once in a while, I envy of some features in Android or iOS.

I understand.
It is human nature to protect their love even though facts show otherwise.

Normally, I will be very curious when someone use WP. I will question them and analyze how long they would hold on to. So far, I haven't meet real WP user personally, who use WP, rant about its limitation and yet still hold on to it. Perhaps, you are one of them. Shall you are, it is a compliment. Don't be angry ah.

I wouldn't also normally introduce WP to anyone. You have to have a strong heart and mind to understand what you want in a phone and the external pressure, or else you will be mostly pull to join the majority iOS or Android. It isn't a bad thing either.

Sorry about that, not trying to shoot you. It's a forum, just sharing information or explain, not trying to shoot or any of that sort. If I did express in such way, then I'm sorry about that. Just your reply gives me the impression that you didn't know that there was another 41MP smartphone available before L1020, and regarding the DSLR comparison, it's just a general explanation as many people may think it's as good as DSLR. You're not average DSLR user, so, my bad.

Cheers.

I was WP7.5 user also.
Too lack of apps and too much of glitches made me fedup.
Lumia is smooth but doesnt "smart" enough for a smartphone category.
Now Android is much matured and lag is not much issue already.

Good to point out to those who don't know.
I myself find it quite expensive and I'm waiting for a price drop to get it.
Also it might be impossible for me to get it since more new phones is coming out soon. tongue.gif

Agreed with Aspire2006. I used to own Nokia Lumia 925 but 4 days using it was the painful experience. Less FB, Twitter and phone usage in those 4 days. Back in 2001, Nokia was my 1st phone. then moved to Symbian OS (still Nokia).

I am quite dissapointed with Windows Phone OS. Listed below are the cons (from my experience). I cant list all as it has tons of limitations.

FB still in beta
Delayed notifications (FB, whatsapp, etc)
No file manager
No album for photos / pictures (all photos are combined in one general place)
Overheating, serious it hasnt been solved yet.
Lacks of apps and games
Most of apps in store are way behind in Android Playstore and IOS

What i like most with high end Nokia WP phones are the build quality, camera and UI smoothness. thats all. Hopefully Nokia / Microsoft will improve these. WP users may argue that they should be given a chance and time.

But hey, this is not 5 years back where android and ios were just started. You should be on par, no matter what. Users spend a lot of money to buy a device that can plete their daily tasks - media, entertainment, business, study.

Please do not blame users why they choose Samsung. RM2399 for Note 2 and RM2499 for Lumia 1020. We will clearly see the sale

The most frustated people are the user of Nokia Lumia 900. Used to be a flagship phone but didnt get a chance to be upgraded to WP8 smile.gif

For android Jelly Bean now, it is smooth as butter. So lag is a history. I am waiting WP to be a same level with Android and WP

Haha, sounds like WP is REALLY sucks in its current state and nobody want to buy, probably in worst state than Blackberry in Malaysia. I'm working currently for a huge and very popular site in Malaysia, and here are the statistic of the Top 40 devices for the last one month:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Anyway, I still be getting the Lumia 1020, as it will my first WP. I've been experimenting using different mobile OSes, test driving them as sole device for months, seeing how i can incorporate them in my daily usage and workflow and also able to give an unbiased assessment of the overall experience using the OS . So far, iPhone lasted the longest (more than a year), followed by Blackberry Q10 (been using since launch and still my fav device today despite the specs and the sad app store, BB10 is really a sweet and powerful OS esp the File Manager). I find myself can't keep non-nexus Android longer than 2 months, I just can't stand the inconsistency of UI/UX and thoughtlessness in many details in the OS despite its features.

I intentionally avoiding reading or knowing anything about WP until now so that I can experience it first hand when my yellow submarine arrive in a day or two. Looking at all your feedbacks, I probably will be disappointed big time HAHAHA

Yea, I notice you mentioned 5D, I guess I wasn't thinking that time, my bad, hehe tongue.gif

Yes, planning to get it, but not at this price. Waiting to replace the 808 PureView, as you said, WP8. Symbian is OK for normal phone usage. WP8 would offer much better usage experience, plus the social network integration is great in WP, and to top it off the L1020 comes with OIS, better or more advance controls/modes, plus nice camera grip.

Waiting for price to drop, maybe year end of new year. But was considering a look for a 64GB unit since there is lack of micro-SD slot.
